I am absolutely gob smacked that the Supreme Court is allowing him to withhold SNAP benefits. He is either bribing the Republican justices handsomely or holding something over them.

It must be even more frustrating to be a Democratic SCOTUS justice than to be a Democrat in Congress, because that court is literally the final authority.

The administrative freeze was order by Justice Brown-Jackson. It’s a procedural freeze while they are reviewing the case, but the optics of the Trump administration desperately fighting to not fund SNAP are terrible.
 
Communist just means "thing I don't like". It's like how with the far left, everyone's a Nazi. There was a very amusing interview from my coutries' maga equivalent where the leader of the far right party short circuited because of what I guess were conflicting directives in the russian programming and called Hitler a communist. The known communist Adolf Hitler. It be like that. Yet at the same time, ironically with that she was actually closer to the truth than when MAGAs call Biden/Obama/etc. communist. Americans don't know this because they're so used to being bumfucked by the elite but all your leaders are more centrist right and social conservative more than anything. I'd argue there's no such thing as a mainstream left in the US. There's the fringe far left twitteristas but let's face it, they don't really matter especially when it comes to things that are not related to identity politics/culture war. They're actively played up by all sides to make the more sane, classical left talking points (workers rights, social nets, government involvement in the market etc.) inherently less credible me thinks.

The administration is largely about trying to play to the demographic that holds these opinions. In part because they hold that opinion (minus relying on the benefits), partly because they think is a winning voting strategy (because it is until it affects the people mentioned above; then the government relies on said group of people forgetting it was the Republicans fault by virtue of being in power at the time come election season, which is usually the case), and partly because this administration is just made up on mean people.

Trump must've just started to accept that he's on his way out, considering he's be wiping his ass on his supporters, lying to their faces and going back on every single campaign promise he made about affordability. Trump is just happy he tricked 77 million gullible morons into voting him back into office so he wouldn't have to spend his twilight years in prison after Jack Smith took him to court.

He got into office and did what he always intended to do: make his rich billionaire friends richer while solidifying his rich billionaire family's wealth and status. He's talked about trying to "get into heaven" so at some point in the past, he must've realized "holy shit, I have lived such a sinful, evil criminal life that I am absolutely destined for hell", and because his brains are turning to mush, he thinks God would be wowed by a Nobel Peace Prize.
 
Without SNAP an affordable healthcare, desperate times are going to call for desperate measures and crime rates (beginning with petty crimes and then escalating) will SOAR. MAGA can blame Biden all they want, but it's their turn to take responsibility.
