Not actually that effective because everything about your browser can be faked. That guy may also be using a virtual machine. e621 has a similar fingerprinting technology, but ban-evasion usually gets caught by a moderator due to what someone is interested in and how they speak.

Thats why, in my initial proposal, I said it should be both an amount of time, and a number of posts before an account is eligible to be manually approved for permissions.

Meaning he would have to essentially fool our mods into thinking each account he tried this with was legitimate over the course of a time period and post history.

Would that completely stop him? No. But it would make it much, much, more difficult, if not impossible, for him to automate the process with 1000s of accounts per minute.

Yes, could be viable if there was some form of hidden punishment when matching the right fingerprint (i.e. its hard for him to detect when he is being punished), though that seems like it would be a bitch to implement. Any effective solution would probably require significant (and possibly continual) effort

nothing really, unless he wasn't aware you were doing it. but nothing stops him from spoofing anything else either, burner mobile phone, 20bux sent to a new crypto wallet, AI generated selfies, etc.
i'm preaching to the choir here but if you figured out a foolproof method you'd be an overnight millionaire because such a thing doesn't exist.

if i were you i'd probably just choose the nuclear option and remove the upload-attachment permission from every new account until they're a year old and revisit it on a per-account basis afterwards.

edit; maybe also remove it from any account that hasn't logged in in the last 30/90 days or whatever too.
