Diapers/incontinence pads/pullups are made in every size from premature infants to full-grown adults. Have to be vigilant to avoid skin issues (same as with normal infants until they’re toilet trained), but theres no sane reason to not diaper her ass.

Diapers leak, especially of they're not changing her in the middle of the night. They could use disposable pads, but that's an extra expense and a ton more trash.
And nighttime dryness is not the same as daytime dryness. Some kids take longer than others.

That's gotta just be the one hospital given the number of commercials featuring midgets praising them. Little people was a damn toy line, wtf.

There are several Shriners inpatient facilities, and also a number of outpatient clinics. Again, all treatment is free of charge.

I have personally known several people who have gone there.

1. A co-worker's son was left severely brain-damaged after getting meningitis as a baby, and he's had a number of orthopedic procedures there, and they have also covered some of his seizure medications.

2. He's now about 50 years old, but he was born with one normal arm, and one arm that was basically a finger attached to an elbow joint; he was fitted for prosthetics but he seldom uses them. You know when you need a 3rd hand? That kind of thing. He's mentally and otherwise physically normal.

3. I also worked with a woman who, as a toddler, was hit by a tractor, driven by a relative who didn't see her, and needed some skin grafts on her back. I knew something had happened to her, because she bent over and her shirt popped up, revealing a lot of scars, and she told me about it later. The local plastic surgeons decided to send her 100 miles away to Shriner's, because they usually worked on adults, and she remembered none of it but got expert, FREE care.

4. There's another family who had a child with a combination of birth defects that appeared to be a result of random genetic mutations, and they sent her there as well.

i don't even know where to start with this. here are some of the things this quote "organization" is claiming to offer to families in need.

- train hospitals and doctors and on parent-driven care (not patient or family centered, but parent-driven)
- help families better understand medical jargon, records, and treatment plans (give me your child's medical records. oh no no, don't bother asking anybody on your care team because all the doctors are probably retarded)
- offering workshops on how to prevent gaslighting
- partnering with medical and nursing schools to integrate the "family voice" (whatever that means)
- joining in on appointments, hospital stays, care conferences (sounds safe and totally appropriate)
- offering 24/7 support during emergencies (terrible idea for so many reasons)
- helping file formal complaints (of course)
- hosting summits to talk about best practice
- make a timeline documentation of a child's care for the care team (hopefully they'll post it to this thread once they're done)

I would never want to dedicate my life to taking care of a vegetable tard baby that's barely sentient. We put down animals out of their misery if they're born severely fucked up, but for some reason, we allow children with several missing parts that will never be able to live independently to be born. It's understandable if it's a mild disability or if a child becomes disabled later on in life. But if you're aware that a child is going to be born a full 100% tard, why bother? To leech off of their tard bucks and become famous?

Partly because, if you are pregnant and have been told that there is a high chance your child will be born a potato, you will be seen as literally the worst kind of evil child murdering monster if you say: "In that particular scenario, we would prefer comfort care only. No heroic, life-saving surgeries, no invasive procedures at all. Just love and cuddles from family until the mercifully quick end"
I personally experienced this.
Luckily our baby survived unscathed (autism aside, the worst there is that he'll become a Farmer)
But we knew, unequivocally, that there would be no support for us in the worst case scenario.

Thank god I live in a country where it's considered selfish and disrespectful to keep a tard baby alive, here the sentiment is to either abort or comfort care. Unfortunately the US is spreading this delusional view via social media so it's getting more traction here too, but it's still nothing like you guys have to deal with.

This tard baby shit needs to end. There are thousands of babies with treatable conditions that could be dealt with with the resources we have, but then one of these worthless nonpeople with conditions completely incompatible with life suck up the resources that could have saved hundreds.
