Technically you are correct, practically, this is not how it plays out at all. If judges did this regularly, defendants would never take plea deals and judges would have trials backed up 10+ years.

When you take a plea the prosecution makes it very clear that they merely make a recommendation to the Judge, who is free to make their own decision. Aaron violated his release conditions after accepting the plea deal, it's not a surprise that the Judge would upwardly depart from the prosecution recommendation. And that's if we don't believe Aaron, who says the Prosecution was actually recommending more jail time today and the Judge split the baby.

I call bullshite on this dismissal of the second violation. This is cope from Aaron to try to draw the sting from this loss.

I can imagine a judge, with the first violation in their pocket, being comfortable with imposing the penalty they wanted to for both breaches without having to rely on the second violation. No need to risk an appeal or even waste time dealing with the semantics involved with the second violation.

He got prison time for being an idiot and having duplicitous idiots as friends that he kept involving in this matter.

I expect he sent messages to Geno that were intended to very softly and whimperishly break up with Geno. Nothing more than a 'oh man I'm glad this is over but I cant risk this blowing back on me again, I hope you understand'.
