I have to catch up on Bible study, but I never understood the totality of forgiveness when your enemies clear as day would not reciprocate the same onto you.

We're supposed to forgive our enemies who've hurt us (heck, especially enemies who've hurt us) because Christians are expected to follow Christ's example, & to quote the Lord's prayer "forgive those who trespass against us".

It isn't fair, nor is it easy. However, as a practicing Christian, it is ones' duty to choose the path of grace.

TLDR, it's what Jesus would do.

Kirk's wife is a devout Christian, & her late husband was a devout Christian - I'm not sure why so many people expected Mrs. Kirk to come out & demand bloody vengeance.
