It's hard to feel sorry for the left when so many people have been warning for over a decade that their actions would lead to a sudden and overwhelming preference cascade. It's a hell of a thing to witness.

Regardless, I find his cancellation incredibly funny, and I'm not asking to get his show back. I know a lot of you think you're at the point where you're actively fighting a war against people who are a day away from people kicking in your door and murdering you, and maybe you are, but I just really think Kimmel is a retard who sees the world slowly turning away from his sensibilities and he's really angry and sad about that. Something that I find REALLY entertaining and I wish I could have saw his show limp along for a little longer. I accept that's not a popular opinion here.

He was apparently going to double down on his comments tonight. He’s a fucking retard who should have kept his head down instead of exposing his bosses to litigation (which would be costly even if they prevail).

Edit: looks like the CEO of Sinclair is a republican who’s been friendly with Trump. Kimmel may have just pissed him off personally, which would explain why Sinclair is being so forceful. Turns out upsetting powerful people in your industry by blatantly lying is actually really fucking stupid, and can have consequences.

Democracy comes with certain prerequisites. We can go back and forth over what counts as philia and how it should be restored, but ultimately our democracy (and Constitution) cannot function in its current state. Friends can have disagreements but enemies can't share democracies with each other.

I've always been a bit puzzled as to why these late night comedy slop shows always have 50+ staff writers just to come up with the tamest and most unfunny "Blumpf has smoll orange pp" jokes imaginable.

For those who believe this might backfire, historically, "authoritarian" responses often payoff electorally.
  • May 68 in France saw a general strike by the left and a massive crackdown on them by Charles de Gaulle, and in the elections next month his party won an overwhelming victory.
  • In the wake of Kent State, the American people rewarded Richard Nixon with one of the biggest landslides in American history.
  • Lincoln was (and is) continuously denounced as the worst dictator America ever had, but won the '64 election handily.
  • FDR was called an unconstitutional tin pot dictator and literally tried to pack the courts, but the American people awarded him with four straight terms.
Strong leadership is popular with the normies, but bald-faced lying isn't.
