Maybe a bit off topic but the reaction I’ve seen online and from some irl people I know in my mind is the strongest case for a total internet ban or heavily regulated internet access. Just in the back of my mind there’s the thought that gen z being raised on the internet has fundamentally warped our brain and mass produces mentally ill socio/psychopaths

I both agree and disagree with this and I'm too fucking exhausted to explain myself...
Pointing out he was just an average-ish commentator isn't "leftoid cope" nigger it's pointing out he was just a guy in the same way george floyd was just a guy, and both of their deaths are being used as a means to an end by actual fucking parasites that do this shit in a cycle whenever someone fucking dies in a fucked up way. The manner of death is completely different, with charlie kirks being a much more active "SHOT IN THE NECK BECAUSE THE HEADSHOT WAS MISSED" murder as opposed to floyd's "I'm fucking dying ODing on fent and being restrained by a guy" death. Both cases are being used in the same way by the politics party color team parasites, complete with sponsor ad rolls.
Oddly they both also involve necks being impacted in some way... If I wasn't certain it was all a complete coincidence I'd be making schizo theories about that.
There are definitely bad actors using the tragedy to grift and push more division and its disgusting, on both sides.
There are people who have placed Kirk on pedestal just like there are people who are genuinely getting off on his death and celebrating it for all to see. There are also people who may not be celebrating but have shrugged their shoulders and dont think its really a problem. This group of people is honestly the most horrific and bleak group for me to think about... I cant put it to words. The apathy is just so insane.
I think Most people, both left and right leaning, I think are absolutely horrified that a person was murdered over their opinion. Opinions shared by at least half the country got some one shot.
When 9/11 happened it brought the country together. When Kirk died it seemingly divided the country even further apart, I think the kiwifarms is a working scale model of the fracture. Just reading through this chat looks like were pretty divided on it.

There are countries that limit internet access for children. Australia, Norway, Italy, France, Germany, China, and more, though at least for the western countries there are complaints that its easily circumvented. I don't know enough of the nature of those countries' policies to say if the complaints are ones I would agree with or disagree with, but safe to say a number of countries aim to limit childrens' access to internet, especially social media.
