First time posting here, hence the new account, but after marinating on a couple of things for the past days, there are some things that don’t add up regarding the assassination itself. Now I’m well aware of the general incompetency of the FBI and the countless conspiracy theories, however my aim is to find clarity on a couple of subjects with the information we possess, because I feel like it is important. The contentious topics are as follows:
1. Exit wound
As per FBI reporting, the shooter used a mauser chambered in 30-06. As a hunting rifle round with the average 180 gr bullet a shot like that would go through a person like butter. However no matter how much footage I scrambled through I didn’t seem to find any where he is bleeding on the back, or that there is any damage on the back of the neck, or head. This is wildly inconsistent with any high powered round, as they always leave a bigger and more severe exit wound, tearing flesh as the bullet deforms. There are no clear signs of either damage to Charlie himself, or the enviroment behind him after the shooting, if anyone has any image showing his backside, please share it, its very much appreciated.
2. Entry wound/shockwave
I’d like to ask for some clarification as to what type of shockwave a round like that would cause on the entire body, while keeping in mind where he was hit. His entire body rocks, and his t-shirt is distorted by said shockwave, before he falls. At first I assumed that this was a neural response, and its just his body jerking, but it seems very violent, and I’d equate the movement of his shirt more akin to the impact of the bullet itself hitting him center mass, rather than the impact from his neck travelling through his body.
Another contentious topic is the size of the entry hole.
It’s a giant hole, way bigger than a rifle round would cause. Now keep in mind, my point of reference to this point is grainy low fps iphone camera footage, and the hole itself could not be that big, but the blood spilling out rather creates the illusion of a bigger hole, however I wouldn’t discard this observation completely.
3. The rifle itself/and how it got there
As far as I’m aware, the rifle used was a rebarreled Mauser M98. Now this gun choice may seem odd at first, but its a really good gun to use in a situation like this: its most likely was rebarreled, came into the country before registration and has a very common ammo type, so the ATF is most likely flicking their thumbs trying to understand it. As far as how it got there, we got that footage of him limping on that door camera, however there are conflicting reports that the suspect arrived at the campus early in the morning with his dodge challenger, that was tied to him.
As far as the limping smuggling is concerned, an m98 from what I can tell is at least 40 inches long, and would hardly be able to fit into someone’s pants without sticking out, but I’m willing to accept that he disassembled it. However my bigger point of contention is the footage shown, where he is fleeing and jumping down from the building. He has some type of towel, or cloth with him besides a small backpack, and I’m having a hard time believing that the gun itself would be there, or that he had disassembled it in that very short timeframe, however I do not own this type of rifle, it’s just my general assumption that the barrel can’t be easily deattached, feel free correct me if you have any other proof regarding this. And even if he disassembled the gun, how did they find it assembled, or did the FBI just reassemble it, and if they did, why?
A couple more notable things that I notice regarding this picture is the extremely poor scope placement, and the flashlights illuminating the rifle itself. For the first one, I think rather just being completely incompetent, he attached the scope this way and this poorly because if it was further ahead it wouldn't be able to let the chamber clear. As far as for the flashlights, the gun was found around 5 PM local time, so it beats me why were they staring at it for hours on the ground in a cardboard box. Also, did they find it in a cardboard box?
4. Working theory
Kirk was known to wear plates, and I think he was wearing a smaller, more concealed plate, that the shooter hit the top of, and the bullet ricochet up into his neck, and is still embedded in his skull. There is not much information regarding the crime scene analysis, or where the bullet is (at least that I could find) so this is my working theory so far. There are multiple camera angles and photos that I examined and in a lot of them you can clearly see Charlie’s nipples, which would make this theory less likely, however I’d like to keep the fact in mind that Charlie was 6’4 and a smaller, more concealed plate would be able to protect his center mass. There are some issues with this theory, for example if it was a steel plate you would’ve been able to hear the bullet hit it, or if it was a composite one the bullet wouldn’t have ricocheted up, I’m not trying to push any narrative here, I’m genuinely curious about what the truth is, and I’m extremely disappointed by the fumbling from the FBI and the lack of transparency and briefings regarding any information.
