Sorry if this comes across as a whiny post I just really had a "come to God" moment that the modern left cant be fixed they just have to be ignored at best and removed from decision making at the most extreme, this is not a conclusion I came to lightly, my heart has always believed that our success as a nation must be hand in hand and not unilateral. Remember when everyone was afraid to call out Scientologists because they would/could ruin your life? It's basically the same thing. There is actually a group of vocal detransitioners but none I would say are household names or anything close to it.

That's a brilliant point and I'm surprised I hadn't thought of it myself. Though I have been looking deeper into the "why" of trooning. I suspect that it's because trooning is the last hail mary play to make society meaningful. And that to backtrack on it leaves pretty much nothing but the questions you were trying to avoid, which all have answers "both sides" would tear you apart for.

Pretty much, it's leaning towards that staying trans is more socially acceptable to "both sides" than what would follow if you were to detransition. As you note, it's incredibly easy to do so, and the pressure to stay trans is really weak. Conventional answers, like troon peer pressure or wokes, are weak on it, and don't explain why, as you note, conservatives or the right aren't pushing detransitioning on mass.

Which, would actually also explain why anti-trans legislature is so weak, even in extremely conservative parts, despite the sheer amount of evidence of just how mentally deranged and immediately harmful transgenderism is.
