Leftoids are so split by tribalism that they don't understand that it's possible to respectfully disagree with someone's politics. In fact, for most of them, it's just outright not possible to be respectful with politics. Everything politics is instantaneously WITH ME OR AGAINST ME-type tribalism. That's what gets me. How is this mass societal issue going to be resolved?

My main idea is to first deradicalize MSM and make them stop being weasels with "fiery but mostly peaceful protest" type language. A good chunk of leftoids are just "I just wanna grill for god's sake" types of people in the opposite direction, where they just sheeple-parrot the mainstream narrative and immediately move on with their day because they're tired all the time and don't like to think critically whenever they can help it because they only have 99 IQ. Once you get the sheeple to shut up and just awkwardly shuffle their feet, then riot mob psychology comes into play and you're only left with the deliberately, permanently radical bad actors. Some of them will see less updoots on their posts and only post anonymously, and the rest will have to get sued into oblivion for threats and defamation before they shut up.

But that's just an idea for a stopgap. This shit will happen again with some other concoction of tribalism politics. Today it's identity politics, tomorrow it'll be some brand new imaginary bullshit deliberately made to skirt around all societal norms just to find an excuse to enact evil. The tree of liberty will die of overwatering without real solutions.

I suspect a lot of it has to do from the shift in news from hard facts reporting to so called infotainment.

For those of you not old enough to remember, you can go back and watch old VHS rips of ancient news broadcasts from any era before the mid 80s, and you may notice a stark difference in how shit was reported. It was a lot more cut and dry/you figure out how you feel about it, "X reports Y did Z, here's Tom with the weather, signing off now".

Yeah sure there may have been some spin/institutional bias, but it was nothing like the current whiling dervish we are currently stuck with.

Nowadays, it's like "here's what happened and here's how you should feel about it YOU'RE A MONSTER IF YOU DON'T 100% AGREE" (of course varying across different platforms, all sides play this game IMO).

It's not just an internet thing either, it was already well established by the late 80s early 90s. Someone who is less of a retard than me can probably weigh in with the exact chain of various legislative changes over the decades and really break this down, but I think a good place to start sniffing around is the fairness doctrine.
