What the leftists were trying to do was to create enough of an self-sustaining ecosystem of online chyrons ("Shot by a MAGA supporter", "He was a groyper") and soundbytes that people would naturally assume was true and perpetuate, like their Charlottesville 'Fine People' hoax.
