Agreed. Earlier ITT, someone asked if anyone here dislikes anything about Trump. I remember giving an honest answer without it devolving into a slapfight. It's a shame the ability to express those opinions and have both sides remain civil has become a lost art. Too many people think the answer is to get in a parting shot or be able to claim victory because an agree to disagree situation isn't as satisfying in terms of the dopamine hit and street cred.

The reason we have a centralized justice system is because back in ye olde England, way back in the day, when a wrong was committed against you, you would gather up your family or clan and get revenge on the person who did it. This inspired cyclical blood feuds and violence. If Trump doesn't do something to demonstrate that there's a good reason why criminal justice has been handed entirely to the State, then people will lose faith in it completely and begin taking criminal justice into their own hands. I really, really, really hope that doesn't happen.
