So maybe don't quote my post which is saying that that viewpoint is bollox eyOh I was speaking generally, not specifically arguing with human Shrek lol.
It's just a talking point I keep seeing get brought up that bugs me.
Ahh right, never had any truck with him, or known anyone IRL who does, so as far as I'm concerned he's a non-entity.Hasan Piker is the most obvious example.
I think it is an increasingly popular position with Jihad-sympathetic leftists who radicalize themselves over the issue of Palestine.
I spent 35 out of 50 years in the middle of a majority Muslim estate in the UK. With a teenage daughter. Never had any hassle at all. I've lived on white estates where we wouldn't leave the house after 8/9pm.The Guardian had a whole thing recently from when they published Bin Ladens letter to America. I'm not sure how you've missed the whole leftist islamic alliance where they view muslims as being collaborators in the struggle against imperialism? If a bunch of Europeans are slaughtered,or a political commenator is murdered, every other response from the left will be 'free palestine' or some sort of whataboutism.
I understand that a lot has changed recently, and I can only go off my own experiences and things I read and educate myself about, this being one of my particular interests (altho I've been pretty poorly for the last 3yrs so, slipping a bit).
The reason that so many leftists shout about Palestine is because of how one-sided it is, and how they stick 2 fingers up at international law, while our own govts refuse to call them out on it. Plus at how fast and hard they're wiping out the empathy that the world had for them after WW2. It's not that people are particularly empathic towards Muslims...if it wasn't for Israel's outrages towards them, they'd be getting a much harder time for their own outrages.
While they're being genocidal nazi fucks tho, they're gonna get called out and their opponents will get the sympathy. And rightly so.
Like I said up thereIt was Hasan Piker.
But as much as I hate him I would be willing to let this one go, you could argue that America as a country(and not individual people) trough its actions has "poked the bear" for so long that they "deserved" it when it eventually swung back.
Even if I disagree, it was a "I guess I understand where you're coming from" type of statement and not "you literally wanted those people to die and think it's good that it happened".
The UK has been one of the biggest cunts in the last 500yrs, worldwide. But, the "well you shot my g-g-g-grand-daddy ' doesn't wash these days. Although who's to say when we should call a clean slate with regards to history? We all still hate fuckin France, so...
