My wife does not follow politics beyond the usual housewife understanding of any given situation (i.e. Tim Walz is a douche, I don't like Kamala). This specific event has shaken her. I can only hope that others are feeling the same.

You should be shaken. Some of my more "liberal" friends are speaking about this with nonchalance. Charlie was the man who spoke to people, genuinely enjoyed engaging others in conversation. Even I, someone who would disagree on many stances he held, enjoyed his content and his general demeanor. Someone killed him for his relatively milquetoast Conservative Values(tm). That type of person would have zero issue killing anyone for being slightly to the right of Obama. I don't believe this will lead to anything larger. I hope I'm wrong, but the dial of leftist violence will slowly be dialed up, and the switch of right wing retaliation will remain off.

It's got to be someone with prior gun training. Very proficient with their weapon. I hate to give the mossad theory much credence, but you're looking at a sharp shooter. Maybe a soldier that's trooned out. Either way, it was a nice shot, too bad the target was a good guy with a young family.

I regularly go to the range and have my rifle sighted in at a 50/200 yard. I shake enough shooting at a deer or two year after year. I could not imagine having to take that shot over a crowd of people, let alone a neck/head shot.
