To be fair, they actually uploaded the demon *into* the interwebs. I only bring it up because that actually seems dumber somehow to me. TV's grasp on computers was interesting back then.
Give it a few more years and we'll get to 40K levels where you just don't want to piss off the AI living in the machine (and there are demons that can take over your GPS to route you to hell).
Could be like the place I work for that uses a uniform service. An outside company owns the shirts, company jackets, and jeans I wear at work, so if I quit or get fired, I have to return those.
