Kirby has always been male and depicted as male to the point where there’s one game where a princess kisses him for saving her kingdom and he gets flustered, and whenever he wears clothes in-game or in promotional material, it’s always traditionally male clothing (there may be some exception related to a specific copy ability, but I can’t think of anything off the top of my head).
But in Japan specifically, he’s not referred to with any gendered terms because he’s a space alien or something. Trannies are now using that to um-akshually their way into retconning Kirby to be nonbinary or even female because pink = girl (you’d think this would go against their goal of abolishing gender norms, but something something double standards).
