i hate to say it, but misato attracting all the landwhales to cosplay her is like the same reason sonico/nozomi/orihime/lucoa etc attract mostly fat girls: bc for some reason people seem to translate "curvy but slim character with a large bust in comparison to her normal sized body" to mean "massive obese hamplanet with barely visible bustline due to being equally huge everywhere else".

She doesn't strike me as someone who'd use heat-protectant spray on her hair before straightening it. Everything she does looks pretty half-assed. That'd explain all the obvious damage.
Those are quite possibly lipo scars. They are scars from some type of keyhole surgery, but they're in totally the wrong places to be weight loss surgery (bands are fitted through torso incisions), and there's four of them. Something ovarian-related done by keyhole would only be two incisions (both ovaries are not usually banjoed at once), and the 'outer' incisions are waaaaay far over to be ovarian stuff.
As ever, I could be wrong. But those are surgical scars. That's probably also her first surgery, because I doubt she knew in advance how badly she heals. Nice purple probably-keloids coming up there. :-/
