I really don't think it was making the bodies cooler to be able to think about the future but really AC allowed work to be done inside without massive smelting heat or during non optimal hours (extremely early morning/at night).

A. You need immediate and painful course correction to peasant behavior (spitting, not throwing away trash, etc) by police. Just beat them right then and there.

Botswana managed to do it, thanks to one of their kings saying "Hey, those Englishmen seemed to have a good handle on how to run things, let's keep doing that instead of rejecting it and work on education, I'll go to college and marry a white woman." They're not exactly a powerhouse, but they have a stable government and a good standard of living for Africa despite being a landlocked country.

Miller has shown zero interest in any topic other than dunking on foreigners, so I don't see a role for him as president. He's very much a single issue guy who tears up thinking about sending every illegal back.

I can understand the book explaining "Why African Languages Have No Word For Future". That's fine, and sure, there is a philosophical understanding of why that's true. The issue comes in when discussing if they are wrong or not. Like sure, they view time differently than western cultures because western cultures did the math to figure out WHY the day night cycle happens and how long it takes to round the sun and African cultures didn't. Western cultures built clocks and even ancient cultures had sun dials and calendars to know generally what time of day it was.

It's cool to say Africans just view everything in cycles that will come when they come, very heckin wise in some ways, but humans know better now. We have advanced enough to understand that sure, cycles will come, and maybe we should plan for them since we know they are coming.
