We've evolved to tolerate alcohol over tens of thousands of years. Drinking to excess is poisonous, but so is literally anything else in excess. Alcohol has been a scapegoat for military and government testing as well as the gradual poisoning done over the years by unscrupulous corporations. Since so many people are alcoholics per capita, it becomes way easier to disguise malfeasance as deaths to alcoholism.

This is insanity. Catholic churches are basically built from the ground up to protect the poorest of the poor. If you were genuinely rejected then it was probably a satanic church disguised as a Catholic one. If they were genuine Catholics, they should be fucking excommunicated.
A lot of churches in urban areas require you to donate a set amount per month to "join" them. Some it's optional, some it's not.

"Life expectancy" is also just an indicator of how many babies die. People that live past, say, 35, are almost guaranteed to live until 70.
And in others it's "optional", meaning they will let you hang out but they will treat you like shit the entire time.
Reminds me of the Ye Olde life expectancy stats giving people the wrong impression of how old most people died. Like how the average age of death in the middle ages was ~35, but that was just because of the higher infant mortality rate and not because the average person died in their 30s.
