I think the thing with Russia is a lot of people forget, just because you want to have peace with another country or even do trade with them, does not mean they are a friend. People really need to wake the fuck up to realpolitik because it drives every nation in existence a lot more than some faggy unified globe bullshit.

Russia does not have to be our sworn enemy, but they were our enemies in the past for a reason, and they are not American. American politics should focus on America first, and people should bear in mind that every other nation is going to be looking out for their own interests first. Putin didn't get in his position and maintain it for decades by being a softie who is a heckin gud boi. This globalist bullshit pushed by the banking class really fucked over the ability of the masses to identify outside threat levels.

The cold reality is that America has no "friends" in other nations - no one is going to set a beachhead and come save us from anything. Even when France helped us out in the revolution they did not do it because they just oh so loved American colonists, they did it because their attitude for the last 1000 years had been "hey, fuck those brits". We should respond accordingly and preserve our own interests first.

So over on somethingawful people still think that russia is communist.

People live in dual realities putin is a brave hero, putin is hilter etc.

I ve been to russia and it sucks.
It is weird, you have Tucker going on about how bread now is cheap and plentiful and Putin great too. There's split factions of left and right (if they even are really that anymore) with crazy views on Russia.

ETA: Russia and India have something in common, the complete lack of any work ethic. They'll cheat and steal and be lazy and corrupt as possible. The socialist/communist tendancies they tend to go for pushes those types to the top. They always tend to have fairly friendly relations too.

I think that's basically it. Stan and Kyle are just Matt and Trey and over time they became less vague representations of them and more direct stand-ins. All the other characters lost their value because their personalities were concentrated too much in the two main children.

The creators have admitted that as they've gotten older, become parents themselves, etc. that they identify more with the adult characters like Randy more than the kids, which is why there are more plots that center around them.

The bigger problem is that it's practically impossible for a show to stay good for 20+ seasons. Most are lucky to be consistently good for more than 2 seasons. There really isn't much that South Park hasn't touched on already and even the newest episodes are only retreading ground. They can still manage to churn out at least one episode per season that's still generally good, but long gone are the days when almost every episode was amazing.

The more depressing thing is that there really isn't anything to replace South Park. Family Guy has all of the same problems, but worse. Any of the Family Guy ripoffs that Netflix shits out are pure garbage. Rick and Morty was good for the first two seasons, but quickly went to shit after that. Smiling Friends is pretty good, but it's only had two seasons. Venture Bros. got cancelled.

Are the people who think Russia is still communist for real or just shitposting? The USSR has been gone since the early nineties for fuck sake.

GO HOME U DISGUSTING JEET.

Hey man, I was born and raised here and had to assimilate. I’m an American to the core, and it pisses me off seeing hordes of Indians, Pakistanis, and Banglas moving to my city, signage is in Urdu or Bengali, and there’s no goddamn shortage of skeevy “lawyers” aiding and abetting sham marriages for visas or committing visa fraud in other ways. You don’t think I have any skin in the game? It blows when you’re trying to do the right thing growing up and your community decries or otherwise mocks you for being a stupid American.

Tuckers supermarket thing was fucked, guy went to a curated supermarket in Moscow and soy faced over the "cheap" (expensive for Russians) groceries without any mention of earning power of the ruble vs the dollar.

Meanwhile Boris Yeltsin visited a random American supermarket with no time to prepare and his reaction was different:

When I saw those shelves crammed with hundreds, thousands of cans, cartons and goods of every possible sort, for the first time I felt quite frankly sick with despair for the Soviet people, ... That such a potentially super-rich country as ours has been brought to a state of such poverty! It is terrible to think of it.

When Boris Yeltsin as a Soviet official is more honest about his country than Tucker Carlson, we have a problem

My first wife came from money, they paid for a 2 week cruise on the Volga River (among some other areas) and I have to say I found Russia (and east Europe) beautiful. It's sad more people haven't seen the beauty of Russia, but the government of Russia is ass ho. If we ever get normalized relations with Russia I would suggest any cat lover visit the area of saint petersburg called either cat republic or republic of cats, I can't remember exactly what it was called.

I fucking wish I knew man

But these are internet broke brain troon socialist that basically hate america and russia is not america so russia just something they project on.

Yep, it was right out of revserse Soviet proponda from the 60s even, Tucker was basically doing the Khruchshev 'our grocery stores are better' against Nixon Kitchen Debate He lost me with that for good. Who did he think he's fooling, and worse off showing a grocery store? Lame.

Vance laughing at his depiction in the show was the best of all possible reactions and it bodes well for his future political career.
People gotta remember that JD is only 41. He was 13 when the first episode of South Park aired. If I was in an episode of something I grew up watching, I wouldn't care how much they make fun of me, it'd still be pretty cool.

Trump is naturally hilarious, but professional comedians making fun of him usually fail hard.

The reason is this - Trump makes them mad, you can't be funny and seething with rage at the same time. It's why Colbert is reduced to screaming kindergarten insults about the stupid poo poo pee pee Mango Man Hitler to pity laughs from the studio audience. And then wondering why that's not worth $12m a year.
I agree, but I'd like to elaborate on why this anger makes them fail. Good parodies rely on exaggerating the most ridiculous yet true aspects of what you parody. With Trump, that means poking fun at his mannerisms, speech patterns, etc. That's what Zach Hadel does, and his Trump jokes are consistently great as a result.

The problem is that a lot of people are so blinded by rage towards Trump that they don't see Donald Trump, they just see pure evil. As a result, they just make "parodies" that are completely meaningless, because you could substitute Trump out for anybody else and the joke would be effectively unchanged.

South Park's portrayal of Trump fails for this exact reason. It's just recycling the same joke they did for Saddam (which itself was a poor parody for the same reasons, and is emblematic of South Park always being libshittery that pushes the current cultural consensus).

(Edit: Just wanted to add that favorable parodies of something can fail for the opposite reason. This happens occasionally with fringe right-wing stuff that doesn't know how to poke fun at Trump. They're just making shitty propaganda that could be used interchangeably for any Republican leader.)

Who in the name of Satan gives a flying fuck about Boris Yeltsin in 2025?

That was 30 years ago retard. You think they're still communist too?
Who in the name of Satan gives a flying fuck about Boris Yeltsin in 2025?
I can't make a comparison of two political super market visits that have to do with Russia without retards crying that it's not a 1:1 analogy.

Obviously the USSR isn't around anymore but Russians still pay higher prices relative to earning power and spend more of their money on food. Carlson outright lying about the state of their food situation is fucked

Who in the name of Satan gives a flying fuck about Boris Yeltsin in 2025?
What kind of retard thing is that to say? He was a big figure in the 90s, so was Bill Clinton, and both of them led to the mess that we're in now in their own way. Guess we could say 'who in the flying fuck cares about JFK or Hitler or X'. Dumb.

Shows like The Simpsons and Family Guy were made for broadcast television and parodies the family sitcoms that flooded those airwaves. South Park was cable television and meant to be a counter culture to those shows. Homer and Peter could never swear heavily, meanwhile Kyle in the very first episode drops a ton of swear words. Violence has to be kept to a minimum on broadcast, meanwhile South Park literally murdered a child in every episode, which was unheard of. The problem is that the internet has made anything found on cable completely obsolete. South Park will never be as edgy as something found on the internet; which was actually a thing Matt and Trey themselves understood all the way back in the early flash days.

Adobe hired them to make a show for flash, and they gave them two episodes of “Princess” which begins with an intro making you think it’s a wholesome dog show, only for the plot to be about a guy cuming so hard while his wife gives him head that he blows her head off, then the second episode has the coroner have sex with the dead body. This was made partly because they could be as unhinged as possible online, and also because they didn’t want to make the show, so they made something ultra offensive to the point that Adobe would never ask for more.

Smiling Friends further proves this. It’s basically just a long form Psychic Pebbles skit, but it’s held back by being made for cable.

For a show that fills the South Park niche to exist, it would have to be online or streaming only and take advantage of the medium in the same way South Park did with cable, which would probably have to be audience interaction in some aspect, but no one wants to do that because of the cost and lack of profit

The retard thinks Russia's grocery stores haven't changed since Yeltsin's time as if things hadn't slightly improved since Russia's Lost Decade.
