I think at one point he was legitimately broke, but now it was decidedly no longer the case. He's just scamming money because he does it for the sake of, it's his only way of being employed and he is outright unemployable (cannot even get a neopotism job done).

All this is to say he is still very legitimately broke in absolute terms. The house is in disrepair. He can't refinance it or do anything with it. His parents are both nearing the ends of their lives. He has no friends or family. His habits and lifestyle are extremely poor and all it takes is a medical issue or some sort of shit and he has no savings and no one he can depend on to help him out and he'll be fucked. If his YouTube account gets banned or some unexpected expense happens he is fucked - keep in mind the Kino Casino DM leaks basically proved the little fucker won't even slow down on gacha spending to get Khet some decent medical care nor take a few days off to go see his mom who is dying of cancer.

I am only surprised by one thing which is that he hasn't done an emergency stream for a specific purpose in quite some time but regardless of that both DSP and Khet are in remarkably poor health and aging and they're going to start having medical issues over time that require taking time off of work, expensive surgeries and other shit. There are tons of people in the US who can't afford that and just have to deal without it or go homeless and live out of their car.

There's a big difference between what DSP was before the bankruptcy and "legitimately broke" because "broke" just means you don't have any money to spend. DSP was so overlevereged on dozens of credit cards and loans that he was fucked and about to get raped by bankruptcy court. He rolled a lucky strike on his pretty much fraudulent bankruptcy and he's not going to get that chance again.

With the way forced face ID scanning and shit is coming to YouTube it could be that his money stream just completely dries up (not just for him but e-celebs in general) and we all know he has no other alternative in that case. He could probably distress sell the house and maybe come out with $50k or some shit which we all know he would squander within a week.

That ID scanning precedent won't affect around 80 to 85% of normal users if it's programmed correctly, most people there speak mature enough and act mature enough, including some dents. It will more than likely affect DSP though based on his behavior and his behavior alone however.
