Since I don’t live in or near NYC, I kinda wanna see the biggest shit show imaginable. I want to see progressivism burn a city to its foundation.

My only opinion on this is I am surprised how much people care about it nationally. I have a libtard friend that lives in fucking Waco, Texas and he is CONSTANTLY talking/posting about this dude, and I can only think to myself, "Why? you live in Fucking Waco why do you give a shit about the NYC mayor." I guess people view it as an indicator that progressives are gaining in popularity or something except that AOC dethroned the guy like 8 years ago and progressive support nation wide has barely grown, if at all, since then so using NYC as the gauge of progressivism is misguided in my opinion.

Also, the fact that the only person the "liberals/moderate dems" could rally behind is the guy with multiple sexual harassment allegations (true or not) is crazy to me. Just pick someone else. What does Cuomo do that some random ass liberal guy doesn't also do with out all of the baggage?

It’s just copium don’t expect it to be rational. Using a 70%+ blue city as a bellweather is retard shit

The more salient point is that Cuomo was responsible for the lunatic COVID policy of sticking patients into nursing homes and sending the elderly death toll into the stratosphere. As one dark joke goes, "Why didn't more senior citizens turn out for Cuomo? ... oh, right."

Whatever happens his career will be dead like many previous NYC mayors. I expect some hilarity and stupidity from Mamdani, but I feel bad for those who are going to get NYC refugees if he really destroys the city. Glad Cuomo got fucked though

On the one hand, I want NYC to elect the pajeet and burn itself to the ground because it would be funny. On the other hand, the rats that allowed that state of affairs will jump ship to Texas and we have our hands full with Californians already.

there has to be an opposition party and I'd personally rather not have it be made up of open communists

I do think people should pay more attention to their local political situation; anyone in texas should be primarily and massively concerned with the wellfunded longterm strategy to make their senate seats and electoral college votes permanently blue

but the mayor of nyc is a highly visible sign of where things are going
