I said something along the same line yesterday or the day before. From Sarah and Hagar with everything that’s said to have come from that, to Moses with that rock in the desert, and on and on. God never seemed to treat people that tried to force his hand much better than the people defying him outright. I never understood got why that doesn’t get brought up that much.
