I know what you mean in the long term, he does that stuff as an excuse in the moment when gambling or if he wants something but overall he deep down knows he's at fault for stuff. He can then switch on a dime to be super humble and happy, he has crazy moodswings.

Yes. Because he's guilty of doing drugs, which nobody cares about.

He's not assaulting people, or robbing people, or murdering people. Despite hitting ratdad once Austin is off the streets living his neet life smoking crack and gambling.

Why lock him up and make him the taxpayer's problem when his parents are currently footing the bill for whats basically house arrest?

The only time Austin's faced a serious chance of extended jail time was the domestic. If you locked up every crackhead just for crack you'd have even worse problems with overflowing prisons. (Breaking into cars would have counted but he did that as a minor and the probation is still fucking him).

Unless you're violent, a serial offender, or clearly dangerous to others they'll do everything they can to not lock you up. They'll keep him out on probation because its cheaper and as long as he's only getting wrist slapped once a year or so its enough to keep MOST crackheads from being everykne else's problem. If they keep picking Austin up (especially if its anything but a failed test), then its more likely he gets a few months of jail, out early for good behavior.

What is even happening? What is this game? Why is there an ominous and nondescript "risk" option?
Also, I think it's beautiful you can see him click "HIGH" for risk even though it's already selected. It's muscle memory for him, it's almost scary LMFAO

Abilities:
  • Lolcow Plot Armor: temporary maxes out CHA when faced with legitimate legal troubles; this ability never fails to activate
  • Smoke Crack: gives a temporary +5 boost to CON during a gamba sesh
  • Scavenge: rolling a 15+ results in adding a Floor Nug to the player's inventory; can be used once per turn
Debuffs:
  • Addiction: character constantly wastes all their gold on drugs and gamba
  • Doorphobic: subtract 4 from every roll the character performs from inside a room with a closed door
  • Gamba: player immediately gambas at every possible opportunity. Even during combat and every combat/stats roll must be gamba-maxed
  • Immafuggaduu: immediately, temporarily subtract 4 CHA upon losing all money from gamba. Roll for a clutch juicer. If it fails, character leaves the map until the following day.

Don’t forget the roll advantage he receives against members of the opposite sex if they are mothers.

I felt like he needed a proper character sheet. I chose ranger, so he can have favored foe against beasts for rat slaying. I chose his traits/bonds/flaws/ideals from the table of urchin, and was pleasantly surprised to find some were quite applicable. Of note, he is of course proficient in Persuasion and Animal Handling for escaping prison and wrangling the rats.

Also, the image is cobbled together in photoshop since I made this in Roll20 and couldn't screenshot it without scrolling
