The libertarians are in a bit of a civil war right now. A big chunk of their party, like the New Hampshire Libertarian Party and the Mises folks, backed Trump because Republicans typically support their bills on the state level, and not so much on the federal level.

I never understood why libertarians would be against enforcing borders on a federal level. Itself, allowing illegals into your country would compromise personal liberty and safety. Their philosophy boils down to "do what I want, WHEN I want without government," but that argument falls flat when you see how states go rouge irrespective of public safety, hence what is happening in California.

No wonder they are a joke of a party. They hate the game of "big government," yet want to "play along" to get stuff THEY want. They're anarchists dressed in suits and overly large verbose.
