I don't think we're gonna see Summer of St. Floyd levels of disruption or destruction. I just don't see the same level of institutional backing behind these protests - and even if there was, the institutions backing them would probably find themselves leaned on very heavily compared to in 2020.

That, and 2020 was an election year so Trump was walking on a lot of thin ICE. (hehe) Trump hasn't even been in office for 6 months and has no concern for getting reelected again anyways. And after being impeached like what, three times? Being arrested, sent through kangaroo court, his house raided for dubious reasons, and almost assassinated. To then beat the odds and win re-election WITH the popular vote. Now Trump, I would assume, is the one who's embolden and knows nothing they throw at him is going to work. I would have to imagine he realizes no matter how he maneuvers politically is basically pointless, so it's better to go full steam ahead regardless of backlash. Pussy footing around the 2020 riots helped none so why do the same now? And the progressive leaders know nothing they do or say this time is going to work. If anything, the people holding foreign flags in the riots helps with Trump pushing the invaders narrative even harder could not have been a better Just Cause for going in hard on them.

I'm listening to the mayor now, and she's begging the rioters not to play into the administration's hands and to "express" their rioting peacefully. It's a lot of vague emotional language to try and CONVINCE trump to stop what hes doing instead of impotently trying to project power against him. She even said its not peaceful when you block highways. This is very different language compared to what was being said 5 years ago when they felt embolden to egg on rioters to fuck with Trump. Now, her language is very weak and submissive. She knows this looks good no one except the radicals they been using to try and project power. They are afraid Trump may even try to have tried for treason by allowing an invasion to happen under their watch and with intent to let it happen. So they're backing off on saying anything that might put them in the hot seat and actually taking responsibility for what they have caused.
