You know. I know this gets too much into the Vtuber side of things, but it always has interested me in just how widespread it has to be that you get westerners going to Japan/emulating Japan to pursue becoming an idol. For example, Keekihime (Takanashi Kiara) and how she has been in Japan for years at this point pursuing (and succeeding obviously) to become an idol while she deals with the insane shit from it like: being sexually harassed in an Asuka cosplay while wrestling a Spider Man (iirc that was the costume), being stalked by some insane prick who went to her apartment and knocked frequently while she cried on the video), and also that time last year when some creep came up to her and assaulted her.

And then you get Ally and Sally who were part of Seishun Youth Academy in Canada, doing idol shit & travelling to Japan at times while they did it, followed by their streams where they were still pursuing the Idol dream while in Canada.

I need the help of someone thats fluent in Japanese.
Under the disclaimer section of my OP, I have mentioned one of my main sources archives of Nyfco - and my problems with it.
It is in Japanese. Sometimes the article will mention posts from 5ch and allege that they were made by Mikeneko.
I could not understand how the author could know this,.Could anyone look into that article and help out with the thread?
Alternatively resident @Major von der Westfront is also making a thread on her. Unlike me he is not ESL, the writing is of a higher quality.
Could someone add to his thread by looking into the Nyfco article?

I’ll never understand the appeal of Vtubers or idol culture.

Wanting to talk to women isn’t a bad thing. But this whole subculture is essentially an aggressively advertised scam with a cute anime face and self-entitled e-thots e-begging even worse than DSP every few seconds. "thank you for the follow!", "thanks for the gifted subs!", "Thanks for the money dummy!", *LOUD NOISES*.

They rarely make any decent original songs either. Its largely just cover parodies.

Continuing with my followup on everyone's favorite Thirst Trapping OnlyFans Jap, I really am starting to believe Chizu is at least a Nikkeijin or some other kind of Asian posing as a true JP to get those simp clicks:

1. She types like a Tumblr girl and uses US slang excessively. ESL Japanese tend to make certain mistakes that give away their native language. She makes none of these. I'm not good enough at reading her JP tweets to see if she makes mistakes that indicate English is her native language, but I wouldn't be shocked.

Americans can't tell the difference between the different types of Yellow Girls unless they've spent a long time around them. While a lot of tourists really are pieces of shit that abuse animals, Hezuryu himself is an opportunist that does nothing constructive and constantly fakes incidents for content. His main audience now is ultra-right wing twitter and youtube drama followers. His main source of income comes from sponsorships from nightclubs and engagement farming on twitter and tiktok.

Oddly this phenomenon also occurs in the west. That Vitaly guy who got arrested in the Philippines for harassing random people and police officers (including “pranking” an old lady by threatening to rob her) also got a lot of popularity from acting as a vigilante “predator catcher”. Luckily he’s now in a Filipino prison, the closest thing to hell on earth, awaiting trial for the foreseeable future. As awesome it is to see pedos get caught and humiliated, I think I’m in agreement with Null that a lot of online predator catchers are basically just sadists that just want to fuck with socially acceptable targets. There is also the issues they can cause for the successful prosecution of predators with their antics, which sort of defeats the whole purpose of predator catching to begin with.

Re Japan media sperging

Fuji aggressively pushes Korean wave bullshit. This may have changed with the new management, which decided to put anime on at an hour people will watch it at. Every time I turn on NHK I see a hapa presenter.

I consider Jdrama to be better than Western drama because it's not (usually) needlessly ultraviolent, there's natural looking lighting, and I actually like the acting a lot better than in Western programming.
