lol, I've been openly rightist my entire time on this site. You must be new here. Imagine thinking people who speak highly of Franco/Mussolini would be lefties.

Point is even left-leaning types understand Fascism is right wing, only people who seemingly don't are lots of Americans who describe themselves as right wing.
It's very interesting, I think a lot of it comes down to the American view that a strong centralized authority is inherently left wing. Which you do see in communism and also leftist in the US regularly pushing for a stronger federal government. Where as the right usually pushes for more autonomy at the state level.

It doesn't help that the left has spent decades trying to tie a swastika decorated albatross around the rights neck. While dismissing or minimizing the atrocities of communism, or in the case of tankies outright defending it. That said I have seen a growing movement of right wing tankies taking the same attitude towards the various fascist government of the past.

Is this going to be the new side-conversation arc? If it doesn't get moved, next 1000 page will be sprinkled with people trying to hash out a definition of fascism, and we'll all be more confused at the end than when we started.
Slow news day, it happens.

I'll make a comparison where there was overlap in historical Communist/Fascist countries from the POV of your average American voter:

For Communism, would anybody agree that abolishing private property and religion is something an American right winger would want? Likewise, in the case of Fascism, would a left wing American be in favor of things such as eradication of anarchist and feminist movements as well as heavy promotion of tradition/social discipline?

Interestingly, though Fascist ideology and Communist ideology both spawn dictatorial governments, neither of them like each other. At all.

yeah went back and clearly you aren't antifa. So my bad on that. Still, a massively bloated state taking control and coercing the populace? Feels pretty damn lefty to me
It feels that way because you're American.
unironically, a theocratic monarchy would be better than the hopelessly corrupt "liberal democratic" republics we have right now.

At least a king believes he has a duty to God to protect his people/land and if you get a bad one who doesn't you only have to depose 1 guy. when a republic goes bad there basically is no fixing it without complete societal collapse.
"You only have to depose 1 guy" is, as history shows, a lot harder than it sounds. Theocratic monarchy just doesn't fit in todays age, there's too much information out there for one religion to take over sharia style.

I'm a bit late to say this but, the recent afd being labelled as right wing extremist, is the final confirmation that democracy a it exists now, is effectively a religion. Any threats to it are labelled as blasphemous, any criticism to it is heresy. Liberal democracy is not a political system anymore it is a the new religion to the godless.
Democracy is no longer a tool in Germany. It is a institution. A cathedral. Only the clean and worthy are allowed in. The exact opposite of what Democracy was supposed to afford. A voice for its citizens. Not just for the few. Glad Rubio yelled at them.

hard, but not impossible. has there ever been a republic that didn't become corrupt and then have to completely fucking die (usually by a strongman's hand) to fix it?

maybe, maybe not. i would argue that "woke materialistic individualism" operates very much like a religion and liberal democracy is just the political system that it created.

Final statement: fascism is when the state exerts absolute control over everything. Communists were fucking good at it.
As I said, Fascists and Communists don't like each other period point blank. What contributing factors do you think were involved in the Russian front in WW2 or the Spanish Civil War?

Likewise, if we're going by American definitions of political words which originated in Europe, would your average Democrat voter living in California have something like this on their bedroom wall:

Or, fascism is left wing.Which is much more elegant
Statism is inherently Leftist, Communism, Socialism, Fascism, Nazism, etc, etc, are all Statist, they are all left of center, but Fascism and Nazism are to the Right of communists and socialists. Franco was actual right wing. Technically, the US is left of center as well, but only a bit. It's why we keep drifting Left, we're not explicitly right wing.

Fascism is anything that liberals believe is evil, and the more evil they believe it to be, the fascister it is. The word "fascist" has no meaning as anything more than a smear.

Truth is, democracy was elitist from the start.
the game was rigged from the start.webp
