radiation ratfucks any and all modern media storage, you would need film or physical media like maybe a CD but I think the vibrations from the blast would fuck that up.

Id love someone who knows how radiation affects modern cameras and if they have protections against them but I have read a decent little bit about how NASA had/has A HUGE problem with computers in space as low as the ISS beacuse the radiation from space just kept sneaking into computers hard drives and would flip a random 1 to a 0 or vice versa and most of the time thats harmless but eventually it hits a critical one and just bricks the system irreversibly

I think they took it down accuse its whole crux was explaining what I am to you know and about why this was important because it days to send high quality photos from the ISS, only a few hundred miles up, to the ground and back again. Reason they need this is beacuse even the tinest of holes in a spacesuit can be deadly so they need to take lots of high quality photos of the suit but epseically the hands to send to special super computer on earth to scam them in ways the human eye cant to pick up micro defects that can be addressed before they cause an in space emergency.

I used to agree with you hole hog my man, truly you have no idea. I told anyone who would listen about how more than 50% of the people in Hiroshima and Nagasaki survived and that modern citys have so much more steel and concrete to absorb blasts, not to mention how many nukes would be duds and shot out of the sky.

then I sat down with chatgpt and a calculator and spend an afternoon pouring over the most conservative of estimates, my final result I had 60% of world wide nuclear stockpile "deleted" to account for failures, interceptions, random shit, and all the other reasons they might not launch then had them simulate blasts from the list of the suspected targets with half of them being ignored at random to account for frantic launches at potentially sub optimal targets

best case scenario was 4-5 billion dead immediately with another 2-3 in the aftermath.

thats obviously world nuclear war but dude it was so sobering, I checked and doubled check the estimates against what stuff like nukemap and other blast yields and all their reasoning checked out and their math was sound.

Mother nature has far more powerful weapons than we do, but we are the only ones that use ours in anger, not indifference.
