Nick was still popular when it happened, and this thread was a tightly moderated hugbox in the Multimedia subforum. You either kept your dissenting opinion to yourself, or were peer pressured into shutting up and adopting a certain line.
That's not me being salty either. That's just how it was. That's why I said this thread is 180 degrees off from where it was between 2019 and late 2022.
I suspect it was likely way worse in "Rekieta controlled" areas (i.e. Discord), but I can't speak to that because I left from there long before the Faran shit went down.
His return to streaming is going exactly as expected. He is unprepared, boring and is making dumb statements of the case that will make you cringe if you followed the first trial.
And he can't shut the fuck up about his own case and situation, is constantly mad and seething about something and appears completely unable to concentrate the follow the trial. I think he does not want to be there at all, and it shows.
You can see his visible contempt for the entire charade. He's utterly trapped between mind numbingly boring trial streaming or doing seethe streams which exposes himself to his alogs.
He is required to do either to satisfying his parole office. Both choices he finds contemptuous.

- 7 minutes late. Supposedly, camera issues. Then spent many minutes getting his screens set up to see chats. He was eating an omelette. Button-down attire has continued.
- Kayla and Nick attended the Make-A-Wish ball this weekend. (Quick googling tells me it was Saturday from 5:00-11:00 PM.)
- Left the screen for about 9 minutes at about 9:45 AM Central to get cereal. This was shortly followed by "I forgot to get my meds!" Then he left the screen for another 2 minutes. When back, he declared, "Provigil and Adderall!" and took the pills. (He's still reading the Farms, confirmed.) He later took 2-3 breaks, but nothing notably long.

- When the trial was on morning break, his audio from YT went to the next suggested video. It was a cooking channel with a female voice.

So I thought @elb just had a bad recording since the resolution was so bad, but then I watched some of Nick's stream today and I was shocked at how bad the quality of his stream was. Dropping frames, and the resolution and quality of his stream was constantly dropping out. And I know it wasn't on my end, his stream quality is just awful, something has to be wrong with his settings and computer for his stream to drop frames and automatically lower the resolution like that. I have no clue what happened since his stream didn't use to be like that. Only thing I could think of that might explain that would be he is now paying for a worse internet connection, or he sold his computer and had to buy a cheaper one or something.
Alot of the context of that incident is now forgotten. Faran made a fool of herself on a Nick stream. Then it was divinity (NOT faran) who leaked a bunch of DMs that were supposedly between Faran and yet another unrevealed person. I believe all of this happened several years ago. The doubt (IMO) was in part because:
1) Faran seemed like the crazy one at the time. By her public behavior she seemed like the crazy one in the situation back then.
2) The messages didn't directly get leaked by Faran. And the path to them becoming public through divinity caused a whole lot of legit questioning about what of it, if anything, was true.
It was a situation where it was difficult to know who to trust.

I guess I misunderstand the timeline. I never lurked when the thread was a hugbox. It was my understanding the whole Faran text was after this thread was moved, and contemporaneously, I never thought she had a reason to lie, but maybe that's because I didn't have the full history.

It’s an interesting trial, but it’s hard to overstate how cringe and boring Rekieta’s coverage is.
An occasional: “That’s kind of a leading question” followed by one cringe infantile humor take after another: “P-list” is funny, because you know… Pee…
On top of that he keeps blabbing over the witnesses instead of waiting for a break, so we get to hear Nick’s jokes about childporn instead of testimony.

I seem to recall that the Faran thing came at the tail end of Nick’s “Hullo fellow Christian trad dads!” Image and was a pretty big deal among his fans.
Consequently, it didn’t take long before a serving of cope arrived: “Oh she’s just lying and trying to get attention off heckin’ wholesome Nick!”
It of course didn’t help that she appeared drunk one stream.
