I really don't understand why Ethan is broadcasting to the world how triggered he is. At this point, it's not even Hassan fans that are going to fuck with him. Any asshole psycho like Torswats is going to fuck with him because he reacted and broadcasts it to the world.
I think it is because of a couple of reasons.
1. He's terminally online and makes his earn online. He's lost the ability to properly have a filter. He can't separate parts of his life from the internet or Youtube because the internet and youtube are his life. That process, it has removed his filter, only encouraged by years of having people unquestioningly dickride whatever decision he made, validate him every time he spoke. Whatever ability he had to keep the two things separate is either gone, or severely damaged. Because of what he's gone through (and this isn't a defense of him), he can't think like you and I.
2. Again because of that complete investment he has, he really did interpret the relationships with other content creators and streamers as genuine relationships between peers, and in a few cases friends. I don't think the idea ever occurred to Ethan that others viewed their relationship with him as entirely transactional. Which is ironic because Ethan has and does view some relationships (like the one he had with Jordan Peterson) in the same transactional light. It never occured to him that when it was most convenient for people like Idubbz and Hasan to knife him, they were going to, and they did. It never occured to Ethan that people he liked saw him in the same self serving and cold way he himself had viewed and treated others. That failure of judgement effects a person's ability to reasonably assess current and future situations, as what you held as a firm belief turned out to be false. On a subconscious level it fucks with you, making you more prone to act out of emotion and anxiety. That just makes a person more likely to make dumb decisions.
Honestly, with this one I don't know whether to laugh with schadenfreude or feel sad. It is a mix of "you kinda had it coming" and pity. It is a modern day Aesop's fable. An example of misfortune brought about by a past history of arrogance, obliviousness and bad decisions.
Ethan Klein may have more money, more influence and more impact than I do, and likely more of a lot of things than I will ever have. But I look at him and Hila and I know for a fact, if given a choice, I'd choose to live my life rather than live his. I'd rather be a dirt poor outcast with my feet planted firmly on the ground than be that successful but completely lost.
