Elon doesn't have a captain of the ship outlook but rather is more like a middle manager. In order to get ahead he always goes for fucking over those below him rather than working out more creative solutions where if not everyone benefits than at least no one explicitly loses out. He otherwise does things he thinks are "interesting" and "funny" moves rather than truly calculated for his own success. Some people think he plays some sort of 5d chess but I think it's rather that generational wealth is a snowball that has kept him rolling. Where would he be if he wasn't born into the family he was?

He's also barely made Xitter any better. There's slightly less censorship. But not by much at all and clearly he is comfortable using it himself when he feels even vaguely threatened.
