I think the terrorism charge is justified. You can't get more straightforward than executing a stranger to get a message that doesn't concern you in any way. Stapling both charges together as some double homicide is bullshit.

It would be a fun trial, though I don't know if LawTube still exist post Rekieta meltdown.

The terrorism charge is a misstep by the state prosecution. They needed to slap it on the docket in order to meet the requirements of "first degree murder" as New York state defines it, rather than just rely on plain ol' "second degree murder".

It also goes against the narrative the feds are painting (that he stalked a man across state lines, resulting in death; a very personal and targeted act) and what the Altoona police said was in his notebook (that he decided against a bomb because he didn't want to harm innocent bystanders). Terrorism could fit if you squint your eyes a bit, but it's currently too flimsy to hinge a murder conviction on it.

Im feeling like regardless of the type of proceeding an army of cops shouldn't be hovering within a foot of someone in court. It like, kind of makes them look guilty when like 7 cops are standing behind you like that one meme. Like what do they think he's going to do, just stand by the door lmfao.

Americans may disagree, but to me (a non-Yank) the tragedy of Rittenhouse is that he seemed like a total LARPing dork who 100% would have been a power-tripping cop in an alternate reality, or at the least fantasised about it. I don't think he had the character to deal with what he did. I don't know if Kyle intended to kill anyone at Kenosha; I think the possibility may have excited him, but he doesn't have the stuff of a man in him to deal with the consequences. Luigi, from the looks of things, has that character. To use an analogy, in the combat sports world all athletes are tough, but some have that "dog" in them that sets them apart. The reason Luigi resonates is because he was a man of action in the world where inaction is the overwhelming norm, if not the mandate.
