Sounds like the sanctions against Russia are working. I also hear that the Iranians are bailing out. What will likely happen is the Palestinians will try taking over and form a coalition with the other inbred Islamists. What a mess this will be in the coming years.

They used to form the majority of Lebanon's population & ruling class and hope to do so again is higher than it's been since like, Bachir Gemayel (their strongest leader) was assassinated by a Syrian agent in 1982. They may even get help from Trump despite his normal non-interventionist inclinations because his in-law & Mideastern policy advisor, Massad Boulos, is a Lebanese Christian.

Hopefully nothing bad happens to the Eastern Orthodox. I know we have decent ties with Maronites but because of Russia I am afraid that our Church may see renewed persecution.

Boulos & his family are themselves Orthodox (with friendly ties to Maronite politicians), no way he'd let anything happen to his people if shit goes down in Lebanon and he's in position to influence US policy towards it.

Israel just showed him exactly what will happen if he gets uppity. IAF bombed over a hundred targets in Syria in the last 24 hours and blew up all kinds of abandoned Assadist weapons storages and equipment in the field and government buildings. Syria is completely helpless if Israel wants to Lebanon it with relentless airstrikes now
