isn't some schlocky hammy-ness
No. Or to put it more accurately they stayed true to the setting. As you can see in Bad day at Black Rock. 1940s karate wasn't unheard of but it wasnt as obnoxious. 1950s martial arts films all over weren't doing that obnoxious silly stuff you see in that clip, because it was meant to be like a human sword fight.

That Bruce Lee style emoting while doing silly moves is the stuff people did mock in the 90s because of how silly it was. But a master of the art in the 1940s wouldnt act or talk like that.

Like I'm sure it's the designers going full ironic millennial on it but I could easily see a Nazi fighting in martial arts style giving Indy a hard time. But it's the gravitas of it. All the Nazis were seen as legit threats. Not buffoons

I don't get it. What's the subliminal messaging with that quote?
From what i've read, a huge talking point of theirs is that men turn to the dark side because they're afraid of everyone else besides them empowering themselves.

They're not exactly wrong, a lot of young men ARE insecure and afraid, and that's where grifters like Tate and Fuentes find their audience from. However, none of the former ever dare to tackle the actual roots of the issue, as it would either bring uncomfortable truths to light, or stop the cash flow completely.

At least this is entertainingly dumb. It also wouldn't be that out of character for a high ranking Nazi. Reading the letters and diaries of dudes like Goebbles there are some incredibly autistic lines that read like straight up comedy. I reccomend reading Human Smoke. It's the best book about WW2 imo and shows just how retarded everyone on all sides of the war was. One of the best Goebbles entries goes something like "Hitler is a true friend and my light in the dark, I love Hitler and Hitler loves me!" It's hysterical. The entries about Churchill worrying about how many jews were in law school was also funny.

The game looks like it might play similar to the Riddick games so I might end up playing it.

You can't sell games in certain regions like Germany if there is any overt Nazi imagery in it, therefore it's probably easier to pivot to fascists than have to make two versions of the game
That ban was lifted a couple of years back and nazi symbols can be depicted in a game the same way it's allowed in movies (because they are used for "art", apparently video games had to be declared "art" first. And maybe the Nazis have to be the bad guys. Not sure about all the details).

I'm confused, isn't some schlocky hammy-ness to be expected in Indiana Jones adventures, particularly from the antagonists? From the look of it, this is also for losing the fight. I could be wrong though.
A little sure, but not that much. The good examples are more whimsical and goofy like for example like the famous "duel" between the title character and that one swordsman in Raiders of the Lost Ark. On the other hand, the "the pen is mightier than the sword" moment with Brody and Dr Jones senior in the Last Crusade wasn't exactly a good knee slapper.

A reminder that in a setting where Jews were persecuted for their supposed wealth and technology hoarding, they were in fact hoarding technology and wealth making the Nazis not only correct in their belief, but justified in their paranoia.
Didn't they do the same thing in nu-Wolfenstein where da jooz created or hoarded some sort of advanced technology and nazis stole it, or am I getting confused with my slop again?

The idea is that nazis/fascists are all silly and shouldn't be taken seriously, but at the same time they took control of our institutions and are radicalizing young men, making them an eternal danger we always need to be on the lookout for(eternal boogeyman=eternal struggle=common enemy for marxist cattle)
Just more typical commie double speak, they want their cake but they also want to eat it too.

BTW this UI is absolute trash, you can't even have anything soul-ful for an Indy game anymore so you give him the same goddamn sterile UI everything else uses.

Nobody’s ever going to be normal about stuff again it’s just going to be either performative SoyLeft or SoyRight nonsense. For instance, all of the people going on about how much they want to play this game so they can KILL NAZIS!, the “Indiana Jones is an epic Nazi puncher who loves trans kids” sorts of people are some of the same ones who were crying a couple of years ago about how Jones is a colonialist looter of indigenous peoples' artifacts and the Temple of Doom was racist.

The bit in The Last Crusade where he accidentally gets Hitler’s autograph and it’s played for comedy is something these people would never put in one of those movies if they wrote it themselves.

>early access that requires the $100 premium edition

That's totally not the reason for the lower player count. No sir, it's because of the WOKE GAY NIGGER VIRUS #GOWOKEGOBROKE
I't say both are contributing factors.
Absolutely atrocious movie that came out last year doesn't help either.
