Okay, but who is "they" and what did they actually say regarding it, though? I get that Trump presents himself as a conservative but the only thing I can find online that Trump himself has said is related to trans individuals, and the only thing I can find regarding "camps" is a Trump-appointed judge striking down bans on "conversion camps for minors" (mind you the person who said this was in her mid-30's). Did my coworkers just conjure this up from their personal worries and the media's fearmongering?

it's not surprising that muslims align more with R than D on most issues, but i thought the israel issue would overshadow all of that. trump is best friends with netanyahu, he's one of the most outspoken pro israel politicians on the planet, i would have expected that to make muslims hate his guts.

i guess many (including myself) have overestimated how much muslims in america care about foreign policy (israel) versus how much they care about everything else.

Their support of Donald Trump is remarkably realpolitik. No doubt they know he loves Israel, it’s not like he hides it, but they’re also aware that they will never in their lifetime see a pro-Palestine President. Between the two options available they’d rather have the one who they think will end the war (even if it is on terms that will be more favorable to Israel than to Palestine) than the one who’s currently sitting in the administration that has done nothing except continue to send Israel more weapons.
