At this point, they're probably hoping none of their assets get through his security. Taking him out any time in the next 4 years only assures a Vance presidency and pushes all their plans back to 2032, at least.

As I said before the election, I think a major faction in the DNC decided a while ago that Trump winning was better for them than being stuck with Kamala in office as it ties things up for 8 years and would probably destroy them downticket as the economy and world burns around her.

They're probably hoping for an economic collapse they can pin on Trump and a Republican-controlled Congress, and try to use that to prop up Newsom in 2028. Another assassination attempt, especially a successful one, totally derails all that.

Also killing Trump would mean Pandora's Box opening up in terms of Vance reeking unspeakable revenge upon the left that would make Pinochet look like an amateur.

Right now the right only gives lip service for purging the vineyard because it's one of those things were once you start it up, you have to see it through to the bitter end. I never check the media from where I used to live, but looking at it now, quite frankly, it's... pretty neutral?
For half of the media I check, I can't even find anything about Trump or the US elections.
For the ones that still do updates, they don't seem to give much of a shit or opinions, they're pretty much parroting reports from experts, explaining how US elections work, what's gonna happen between now and January.
Not a single article calling him a fascist. Even more surprising, because a local province just elected literal commies to power.
The only thing they're shitting on? The EU, as it "rested on it's laurels for too long, and now that the one that holds the wallet is gone, is going to find itself unable to buy food."
