My grandparents drank the Democrat Flavor Aid super hard (they always have), and my grandma today was going off about how they're going to forever ban D&C procedures, even for non-abortion reasons.


And this is my stupid question: is there any merit to that? Or is my grandma just extra retarded? (It's possible that she is.)

D&C procedures aren't just used for abortions. They're used for cancer diagnostics as well.

There are legitimate reasons to have abortions, full stop. I'm hoping wisdom prevails and the line is drawn after nonviable pregnancies, but there might be an over correction.
Issue with medical stuff is that no one seems to know what the best course is. Medical consensus has given us lobotomies in the past, more recently sterilising children for fashion fads and injecting half the worlds population with an experimental treatment.. Its entirely possible they ban certain proceedures because they're unfashionable.
