You can but until a Supreme Court case in late 2021 it also acted as a legal confession of guilt.

Kamala's position was nationwide abortion-on-demand (at any age, likely), which turns off pro-lifers, moderates, and men. (Unlikely to push it national anyway)
Trump's position was up to the states, which had various rules about viability of the fetus, and so on. As a result, abortion rights actually expanded last night including a few states that went to Trump. You could vote Trump for other reasons besides abortion and then sign off on abortion or just forget the downballot issues.
