The political will for constitutional amendment dried out decades ago, jus soli is the law of the land in the Americas.
It used to be tempered with outright nationality restrictions (English colonial law) or a caste system (Spanish colonies) but the US is now left interpreting legal documents that had entirely different meanings at their conception that they have locked themselves out of changing.
