Because Covid happened. And do to Covid they had millions more plausible mail in ballots do to coof restrictions and do to coof restrictions it was harder for grass roots organizations to take place and hold shit accountable.
Also the Republicans in 2020 were dogshit and huffing their own supply. The amount of campaigning and ballot harvesting in 2024 is order of magnitude bigger than 2020.
