Lee was a good man and people seriously underestimate how crucial he was to ending the civil war as cleanly as possible. When he said the war was over, it was OVER. Most civil wars like that don't end in 4 years with army's on fields. They end with violent terrorist acts, gurella warfare, just nasty seemingly endless reprisals all around. There was enough adoration for him that he managed to seriously defuse the aftershocks and resentment with his diligent calls for peace and his incredibly amicable surrender. Grant accomplished a victory greater then any single battle just by talking to him and treating him with dignity. ( Lee never tolerated a single bad word against grant after that meeting.)


What Lee did and said after the war was one of the most beautifully bittersweet things I've ever read. He became a school teacher and reportedly his greatest regret was that he was a soldier for most of his life before that moment. He Dedicated the rest of his time to uplifting the youth before dying of a stroke.

The degree to with which the left is now shitting on Lee with foaming-at-the-mouth hatred is both disgusting and amazingly historically ignorant. Lee isn't a hero in America for what he did during the war, but because of what he did after it. If a lesser man had played his role, we would have had far, far more bloodshed. That seems to be what the left wants. They want to pick all those scabs open and rekindle the conflict, bringing all their hatred and rage down on everyone they see as somehow the ideological heir of the South. It's like they believe the end of the Civil War should have been followed by a genocide, not peace.

Walz is a complete buffoon whenever I hear him talk I can't take him seriously. With Biden I could see some likeablilty even if I think he's a jackass too, Walz on the other hand feels like he got of the short bus and does not know what he's talking about or what he's campaigning for.

He has the charisma of a child molester, and the energy of a small town official being told to go fuck himself at a town meeting.

He really is the worst pick. I don’t know WHY they thought he was “folksy”.

Probably some fat, blue haired campaign manager thought he’d be a good pick because he’s male, old and white and never actually saw him in action.

You have to set up a whole live music venue if you want a Beyonce to perform. That requires technicians, Beyonce's touring people who add in the prerecorded vocals because just like Taylor Swift these popstars aren't doing this shit natural. I'm not even trying to be a Beyonce hater it's just reality that she's a pop/hip hop star her music isn't oldies like Aretha Franklin.

You want to see what happens when they have someone perform without all the technical shit look no further than Bruce Springshit larping as Woodie Guthrie.

East Coast Boomers think Bruce Springsteen is a literal God, "THE BOSS." I'll never understand it, to me he's in the same tier as Bon Jovi. Regardless of what you think of Bruce we can all agree he needs his East Street Band.

The individuals most adamant in their disdain for Lee and his compatriots use them a long-dead scapegoat that can be attacked with relative impunity. Much can be said of the Confederates but be aware the same attacks for those secessionists of yore will be used against the Founding Fathers before them.

It's not that difficult to pick a simple song that can be done without a full setup. Beyonce could have sang America the Beautiful or something like that with minimal accompaniment and the crowd would still go wild and people would be talking about it for years. I don't listen to Beyonce or Swift, but do they not have any songs of their own that they could have sung without having a full backing band or that they're not talented enough to carry a song with just their vocals?

Gary Brecher who has been a war blogger for a million years and who I otherwise respect highly is one of these and I find it spiritually ugly. He's not a "They should have hung, drawn and quartered Lee" but a a less hysterical "They should have hung way more officers of all ranks and dust binned southern society". He's far too educated in the matter to hold it seriously and you can see it being a historically juvenile desire. But they are compelled to think it that way, it's strange.

As I've written before, we'll likely just switch to another chemical fuel source if peak oil ever actually happens, or we develop a cheaper fuel that supplants oil first. My guess is Methanol to replace gasoline, since it can be made from basically any biomass source that humans can't consume (unlike Ethanol, which is made from edible sugars generally), and burns very cleanly in any gasoline engine with minimal retrofitting.

Even with massive improvements to battery efficiency, they'll always be heavy, massive, and expensive compared to any ICE, and will need frequent replacement, lose power in cold weather, and be slower to recharge than simply pumping liquid chemicals into a gas tank. Though there is at least one type of liquid battery, but it's only useful on massive scales, like backup power for a factory. Not suitable to a vehicle smaller than a military vessel.

I'm not sure the world would ever accept nuclear powered cars. Folks freaked out pretty quick over nuclear aircraft.

Damn things work and Jay Leno still has one of the few that was produce. Things can basically run on anything that can burn (in Italy they showed it off by burning liquor & perfume). Very simple machine with few parts (only needs like a new spark plug every 6 months) with the only issue is that it didn't idle very well.

Oh my God. They STILL don't know not to use the LULAC / La Raza idiots. La Raza are Mexican tankies. They have tried to take over Houston and San Antonio for the longest time and every time based Mexican capitalists have to come in every election cycle and pull the rug out from under them. The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has a playbook on how to take them out when they plant candidates in local races.

This same group of people where she comes from tried to push a shoplifting legalization ballot question in San Antonio last year and they got a nuclear reaction. The black neighborhoods of San Antonio voted it down by 90%
