Jordan Asbee Update:

Back story: Jordan's our typical gymnast-to-munchie pipeline who found an enabling pediatrician to give her whatever she wanted including TPN and tons of IV medications to put through her port, which she constantly filmed for Tiktok/instagram views. She built up a huge TT following showing off these medical devices. When she got thrown out into the big scary adult world at 18, all that got taken from her. She ended up getting put in psych a bunch of times for "suicide attempts" and became radically obese on a diet of Chick-Fil-A, Starbucks, and Seroquel. Just before starting nursing school (because of course, she wants to be a PICU nurse), she managed to weasel her fat ass back to TPN but apparently could not find a doctor willing to give her the sampler platter of IV medications she once had.

A few months ago Jordan's former friend Cait made a video saying Jordan had stolen her IV medications. Soon other people jumped in to say the same. Jordan was inviting tiktok munchies she befriended to visit her in L.A. with the promise of beach trips and Disneyland adventures, stealing all their IV medication when they got there, making a big show of helping them look for it in her filthy bedroom, then miraculously finding them when the other person was home. Of note, this was not narcotics. It was shit like benadryl, zofran, steroids, and tylenol, the things Jordan used to be able to get from her pediatrician but no longer can. So best guess, Jordan was stealing medications she won't really get high off of and injecting them in private act out some kind of bizarre fetish-like medical fantasy.

In the aftermath she got reported to her school and the nursing board, the police, and whoever else they could think of, spiraling to cringe heights as they reported her to shit like the FBI and DEA, but nothing came of any of them. Jordan deleted all content off her public social media and went dark. I have a strong belief she was kicked out of nursing school because you don't want the PICU nurse deciding a baby's life-saving medication would be better served as part of her fantasy life but that might just be me being a cock-eyed optimist who wants to believe there's still some academic institutions out there who will not pass someone unsuitable through four years of nursing school and grant them a degree just to reap their tuition.

The original "whistleblower" has just made a new video to update people that Jordan is now suing her for defamation. Jordan's attorney is demanding she remove all videos talking about Jordan, post a video stating she lied about everything, reimburse her for the attorney fees, and never speak to or about her ever again. Cait is refusing to meet these demands and maintaining it's the truth. The Asbees hired an extremely expensive law firm that specializes in "supporting female victims" so even if she wanted to just make the video to make it go away, she can't afford to pay them off. Cait is seeking low-cost or pro bono legal counsel.

Living in the rural Midwest of the US for a while was a downright shock to me, what with deathfats walking their kids on leashes (saw that many times) but the feral cat & dogs (and 30-50 feral hogs) running wild and all. But I digress.

If I'm totally honest, the lunacy around "outside cats" and people feeding feral colonies is one of my pet spergouts. Where I live (East coast US) we don't see stray dogs often and when we do they're taken to Animal Welfare, but we're positively infested with feral cats. We have a group of frothing-at-the-mouth cat ladies who block any attempt to actually control the population because they know that means the majority are getting euthanized. The only thing they'll go for is TNR which is proving to be completely ineffective, and they leave garbage from feeding the cats all over town. I don't like cats to begin with and having my property infested with unfriendly cats that piss all over everything and scream outside my bedroom window at 3am is not helping the problem. (and for the cat ladies currently feeling their blood pressure rise, I'd feel the same if it was packs of feral dogs chasing children and barking all night, but where i live a stray dog is taken seriously while feral cat colonies are seen as part of the ecosystem.)

I archived but never posted a british munchie who let her cats roam free all the time and was always shocked, SHOCKED when terrible things would happen to them. When I talked to Bongs about this they were shocked I expected her to keep the cats inside. They think it's cruel not to let Mr. Fluffy wander the neighborhood, kill wildlife for fun, shit in someone else's garden, and get hit by a truck and most rescues will not even let you take a cat if you don't have space to let it roam freely. Blew my fucking mind.

Well, maybe not necessarily outright fraud - but I think in the majority of munchie cases, it's specialists willing to play along with a munchie's delusions in order for an easy paycheck. Notice how the #1 demographic of munchies is upper middle class white girls from intact families? I.e. parents whose copay checks won't bounce.

Their doctors are probably like, "Well, your ANA/etc. tests are negative, your C-reactive protein is low, your ESR is fine. Well, I guess your vague symptoms can still be an autoimmune disease . See me in a year and we can run the blood panel again."

...on the major surgery ones, I have no freakin' clue. Hopefully they're lying.

Eh, you're right about the demographic, but these girls are paying cash, it's how they talk their way into shit. Either doctor shop or go with one of our frequent offenders, tell them some other doctor recommended him/the procedure, pay cash and it's cheaper and easier for everyone - and they don't have to justify doing surgery. Nobody is overseeing cash transactions, certainly not on the level of insurance companies.

I've been looking into living kidney donation lately, and I keep wondering why people who want attention from the medical system and friends/family don't just go donate a kidney. You get plenty of doctor visits, blood draws, a surgery plus a couple nights in the hospital, getting babied for recovery/positive attention, and you get to be a bit higher risk/special forever. They'll even pay for travel and lost wages sometimes.
On the other hand they do a psych eval to make sure you're not doing it for the wrong reasons/a nutcase, and once that one month of recovery leave is out, you have to go back to being a normal functioning adult.

Cat lady here, and I'm stoned. My former stray agrees that just TNR and hope for the best is still condemning the cat to a short hard life. This dumpster fire probably would have died from an infected broken fang, cost well over a grand in vet bills right out the gate, no shelter working on a government budget would pay that, it's lunacy. But if I had said "eh, just TNR" ... dental abscesses kill otherwise healthy humans, a cat already struggling to survive doesn't stand a chance. To TNR her would have been cruel. Did she like transitioning to a catio? No. Did she get over it? Yes. I'm not just sperging about my cat, I'm saying that she's one cat, of fucking millions, for whom TNR would've been as much a death sentence as taking her to a shelter, but worse. Shelters put animals to death as quickly and painlessly as possible, feral cats die from anything from fighting to infection to being hit by a car. I know I'd rather die by lethal injection indoors than a hit and run in a thunderstorm.

Munching into unnecessary treatment is much simpler than many of you think.

In my experience, there are two types in medical professions; those who are sceptical of patients at all times and those who believe everything a patient says. If the latter is also quick to overprescribe medications and invasive treatments their name gets passed around as a "good doctor" and not only by munchies. There's been a surge in self-overmedicalizing in the general population; people want that prescription and they want it NOW. I partially blame pharmaceutical advertising and the popularity of medical dramas but there are multiple factors at play. Dr. Google contributes too.

Anyway, I've rejected unsought treatment, everything from potentially addictive medications to questionable surgeries like toe straightening (I have strange curly toes that cause no pain but look funny; I'm not going to fuck around with my functional feet). I've watched munchies develop in real time, amassing a collection of diagnoses and assorted medical devices in a matter of months and this is in public medicine Canada. I'd imagine it's even easier in the private, doctor shopping market stateside. And I will add something people don't like hearing; this game is simple for cute younger women because we're treated like sweet, innocent princesses in need of saving. Men and older/less attractive/obese/uncharismatic women have a harder time getting into munchieland even when they want to. They can do it, but they have to put in the work for ages first, tend to stall out at IV in the ER stage, and usually resort to buying their mobility aids and faux working pets online as part of the con. Often though, they end up bitching about the evil medical system that abandoned them instead of getting to post adorable selfies of their latest hospital and theme park visits.

I guarantee I could get a doctor to sign off on surgery for me if I complained. Like a lot of these munchies, an early lifetime of sports means I can point to x-rays that look just abnormal enough to make chronic pain a possibility. I know this because I was unhappy in a situation once and used the medical system as an escape. I didn't follow through on surgery because I'm not a munchie but it is that easy. I could get a psych stay tomorrow if I wanted it (I don't) because I have a diagnosis and know what answers will trigger a grippy sock vacay and release date. To munch, you just need to know what to say, who to say it to, and how to say it.

One of my cousins is a munchie. She spends her days in bed while her husband handles all the adulting. Every family get-together revolves around her. She has the munchie trifecta with all the toys and drugs. No expectations to live up to, no requirement to care for her affairs. The tradeoff is she has no social life, no career, no kids but she gets to remain the treasured baby girl of the family forever. For girls who think they peaked in their teens, this is the dream.

Oh, and these munchies get 'rewards' like disability checks for the same reasons they get medical treatment. It's assumed that they must have so much going for them so why would they lie and seek out a painful life of struggle? Even hardened social workers accustomed to dealing with middle-aged workshy grifters are gullible when it comes to the munchie demographic.

If you feel compelled to post that, there's like a 90+% chance you're a Munchie yourself and it's not fooling anyone here.

These people are terrified of being found out so they insert themselves into the "opposition" to try changing the narrative.

Here's a few things they should consider: Medical professionals know what's going on. Most people in your life know what's going on. The people who support you know what's going on. You're destroying your bodies and overwhelming our already fucked up emergency medicine system for the approval of an echo chamber.

Your weaknesses are not worthy of praise. Go do something with your lives if you haven't destroyed yourselves already.
