At Least 9 People Stabbed at a "Festival of Diversity" in Germany

Solingen - At around 9.45 p.m., a man stabbed passers-by at random with a knife at the city festival in Solingen. According to witnesses, the Arab-looking perpetrator is on the run.
According to initial reports, there are at least three dead and several seriously injured. Dozens of rescue workers are currently busy resuscitating the injured.
As reported by the “Solinger Tageblatt”, a co-organizer on the festival stage explained that the rescue service was fighting for the lives of nine people.
The police issued a major alert and declared an amok situation. The city festival was called off and a police helicopter circled over the cordoned-off area. SEK units from all over North Rhine-Westphalia are on their way to Solingen, road junctions have been closed and residents have been asked to stay indoors.
Solingen is celebrating its 650th birthday this weekend with a “Festival of Diversity”. Over three days, 80,000 visitors are expected.
