couple things I'm gonna pull out of my ass but make sense to me.

1. Kayla's plea agreement is identical to an agreement offered Nick. Negotiated by Nick's attorney. State put agreement in writing and sent to White and Kayla.
2. During negotiation, state had a "no drug users association" clause and explicitly noted they had to keep April out of the houe and away from kids. Nick objected as she wasn't accused of doing drugs, no tests of drugs, no criminal history. Prosecutor was forced to file charges against April to make sure they would be violating the terms of plea if she's around
3. Nick wants the plea agreement in place before any hearing where prosecutor could present evidence in court. Any court appearance will be quick "one and done."
4. Plea is likely deferred adjudication. After court acceptance, he will be on probation. His kids will return after plea is executed subject to a shitload of conditions tied to probation.

I don't know if the court can use the omnibus to accept a plea or if it could happen sooner. I think the fact they mailed/served the plea "offer" to Kayla is an indication that it's already negotiated, in final written form, and a done deal for both Nick and Kayla.
