It seems my last post was a repeat of something Nemui did back in June. I should have gotten clocks for that one. But I will try to redeem myself. I decided to compare the US and Japanese data for 2022. This was primarily to further validate both data sources, but also to see if maybe Byuu's death will show up in the subsequent year for some reason and we're a bunch of idiots for not considering that possibility.

First, here is the State Department's list of deaths for 2022:

There is no cluster of suicides to suggest the previous year's deaths were dumped into 2022, which we might expect under a "slow Japanese" or "slow consular officers" scenario. I imagined someone could have fat-fingered the year and moved Byuu's death forward a year, but there are no suicides in late June. There was one suicide in Arakawa, but no reason to think someone changed Byuu's date of death to April 30. There is no readily apparent path for that error to occur.

In this case, the US data includes two suicides that are not in the Japanese data. This is curious, but I'm not joining Team Dead Byuu just yet. While it would be nice if the US Embassy and Japanese vital statistics agreed on everything all the time, they don't have to. In fact, a minor disagreement increases my confidence because it means one agency isn't simply mirroring the other, they're collecting their own data and/or adjudicating cause of death under their own rules. That means when they do agree--like in 2021--that's pretty compelling.

But why do they differ in 2022?

• Perhaps dual citizens are counted as Japanese in the Japanese data, and do not show up in the US column.
• State reported three suicides in hospitals. Might the Japanese have attributed two of those to illness?
• The Japanese recorded three "accidental threats to breathing," two males and a female. Sometimes people hang themselves, and it's hard to tell whether they were trying to kill themselves or accidentally whacked themselves while whacking off. I can see how a consular officer might record such a death as suicide to spare a family the image of their loved one jerking off until they jerk spasmodically at the end of a rope.
• I'm a right-wing conspiracy theorist and made this up to justify harassing trans people.

I just had a brain wave; we can test this hypothesis by looking at the American homicide victims in Japan, and using the above source in the homicide column there was only 1 American Male and due which fits the facts of the triple homicide case perfectly, 1 American single citizen ship murdered with 1 dual citizenship murdered with 1 Japanese citizen murdered.

So dual citizens are counted in the US stats as Americans but aren't counted in the Japanese stats as American, which makes sense if you think about it.

Accidental breathing incidents are usually due to some kind of chemical substance or otherwise foreign objects getting in the way of your breathing . This can include lab accidents or self inflicted suffocation. Japan loves euphemisms. Whenever someone jumps in front of a train, they refer to it as a 人身事故, jinshin-jiko, or "human body accident". How did I learn this? They always list the reason for any train delay (I remember seeing one involving the train hitting a bear) and this one was by far the most common.

Sad that it turns out Byuu killed himself. I'm still baffled the State Department didn't record it.

This is where you can sink into schizo conspiracy territory. There's so much wrong with the wider story that it's not much of a leap, from questioning the likelihood of so many government institutions being incompetent, to thinking that the entire thing is fake in some way. The response from the state department could have been written by a tranny who wanted to show dem kiwi farmers what for. Or the death certificate was sent to the state department by someone in Japan with access to the consular system. Or... the list could go on and on.

I do actually think something stinks about it, given the equally schizo claims made by the other camp and the huge contradictions between their various claims. No actual evidence of his death was presented at any point; there was no obit in all the years since his alleged death and no relatives have ever had anything to say about it. Still, if Byuu does happen to be alive, yet so wants people to think he's dead that he gets an actual death certificate issued in his name, I suppose there's very little point in questioning it.

If Byuu was estranged from his family and left his husband to hik out in Japan, that could account for the lack of obituaries or comments from relatives. And the schizo claims made by the other camp could be due to guilt over not saving their "friend," which they naturally project onto KF. Having identified the guilty party, they twist (or manufacture) the facts to confirm that guilt. But the absence of evidence in multiple government datasets and the mysterious provenance of the FOIA documents are rather curious.

Having looked at this FOIA, assuming the nearly tinfoil level of conspiracizing it would take to think it's all entirely fabricating is not in fact true, it doesn't appear the Japanese fucked up here (that would really throw me for a loop). They provided all the relevant information to the consulate. The DoS runs all our consulates. So the DoS did in fact get this information. They just absolutely failed to do their job and report it accurately.

The only reason I am not yet tinfoil on this is the DoS is one of many federal entities that is absolute clownshoes.

While I would trust them over Hector if I had to pick between the two about any statement of fact including the sky being blue, they don't literally fuck up every single thing they do, just more than enough to make me more than a bit foolish to take their failure to do a core function of their jobs as very strong evidence and not just evidence.
