In 1997, the Heaven’s Gate members committed ritual suicide in order to be beamed aboard an alien vessel. Two of the members ‘stayed behind’ and maintain the website to this day: Mark and Sarah King. They violated the rules of the cult by marrying each other. But despite this, they remained involved. Last I heard they lived in Phoenix. They were in a legal battle over custody of various Heaven’s Gate items, which was settled in 2019. I haven’t found any more recent news on them since.
