Are you addicted to virtual trophies? Well you came to the right thread. This thread is mainly going to discuss about achievements in videogames, flexing your 100% or platinum trophy (if you're a consolefag) and showing tips on how to get certain achievements. If you're having problems with an achievement or want to rant about a certain one, you're welcome to let it all out here.
 
I used to think the people who are saying that achievement hunting is a gay waste of time were wrong
Now with games and achievements becoming increasingly shitty on average, I'm willing to concede the point
Basically, if achievements are there just to get addicts to waste lots of time doing unfun tasks in games that they no longer enjoy, hunting these achievements is gay and retarded

If your trying to 100% a game multiplayer achievements are usually the worst either the game is dead and you need friends to help or its such a grind its not even worth it.

Yeah, lots of modern games do that (I'm looking at you GTA). However in that pile of coal, there's always that shining gold buried somewhere in it, like Goat Sim.

I probably had the most fun 100% this game.

30 minutes? There's no need to feel sad, I've seen people spend 3 days to get a single achievement. You're good man.

achievement hunting is even more addicting and expensive than drugs.

i was achievement hunting for years until i just didnt feel like playing vidya games anymore and stopped it.

for steam i use Steam Achievement Manager and unlock them all by default. can't be arsed to get addictive on PC as well, just enjoyin the game instead of forcing myself to grind any unfun game.

Yeah, the addiction can go overboard. I've seen a small amount of people that don't even play games without any achievements. There's also those that try to get all the achievements on their first playthrough making it a lot harder and less enjoyable than what the game intended. This is why I do a blind playthrough on my first run then do the achievement hunting on later runs.
 
I take it all back. It is your patriotic duty as an autist to buy one of those 99 cent games that are just there for achievements with alphanumeric icons and spell out NIGGER on your steam profile.

i know people who buy dozens of those achievement games just to get thousands of achievements on their steam profile, shits wack yo
 
I used to be down bad, when it came to this shit. The kick was introduced to me, when I bought the 360, back in 2005 (damn I'm old). I booted up the game Hexen (which came pre-installed on the OS) and was greeted by that magical sound of 20 gamer points being added to my total score. Soon I found myself rummaging through the bargain bin in Gamestop looking for the next source of GP. The TMNT game for 360 was infamous for only having 5 achievements, each yielding 200 GP. Much crap was played in this phase of my life (Vampire Rain, Hour of Victory, the Prison Break game (lol)). It wasn't all bad though. The great hunt introduced me to games like Viva Pinata which I still cherish to this day.

During highschool many pointed out the negative correlation between a high gamer score and being a pussy getting gigachad but in my group of speds, gamescore was a status symbol. Good times.

to add on that comment, you gotta form white stars with normal tiles, and black tiles from white stars. (each 3 and 6 black tiles to get the 2 hardest achievements)

here's a video to halfway imagine the pain of completing 2 games for those stupid cheevos on Hexic HD:

Space marine 1 comes to mind. I loved that game and I'll never see it 100% because it has like 6 of those.
