Fair point, let me clarify, too long for Phil to write. That's why I mentioned if he was reading it from "an anonymous fan" or someone behind the scenes or whatever he wanted to call it, I'd totally believe it was something he made up, but I don't think modern day Phil really bothers writing lengthy posts anymore. He has his copecast for that, and it's easier to control the narrative when you're talking versus people who are typing, especially with the power to manually lean in ban.
 
God that was juicy. Also he quotes the fucking Dark Knight movie. One of the most overused quotes in recent history, lmao.
 
Very rarely do we get rants that are as unhinged as this one. I'll provide a TL;DR for anyone who doesn't have 30 minutes to spare.
  • Phil gets an email from a dent with insight into his detractors. The email basically talks about how Phil dindu nuffin and all the detractors are just stupid idiets.
  • Phil responds very positively to this email and gives us some insight of his own. He explains how "dent" is an ableist term used by his detractors and then proceeds to use other ableist terms against his detractors.
  • Phil basically spends the next 5-10 minutes talking about how his trolls are like a hivemind of retards who blindly obey the consensus on social media. His point was basically that they just laugh at whatever meme is popular enough without really thinking about it.
  • Another point raised by said email was that YouTube is only allowing the harassment against Phil is because Phil is a straight white male.
  • Phil then proceeds to cry about how the evil megacorps neglect to address the harassment he receives on a daily basis. Imagine every incel meme you've seen and combine all of them to imagine what this section of his rant was like.
The victim complex among Phil and his dents is reaching such insane levels that his streams can easily be mistaken for those found on cozy.gov at this point. The funniest part is that everything he complains about would go away if he just didn't sperg out over every bit of criticism he receives.

Just wanted to say that I have finally broken, and it’s thanks to you, or rather, the treatment you have received since day one.

I tried to tell myself that it was all about the “Gamers are Dead,” articles, and the forums, and for me it was, always. I don’t even go online to game so never even engage with people there. But I was blind, some would say willfully ignorant about it all. I told myself over and over that the abuse being received by women such as yourself was not real and put it out of my mind as I suspect many others have.

I distanced myself from any abuse I did see and wrote them off as fakes, but it isn’t true is it? It’s more than the majority. I was wrong all along. I never abused, or engaged you or others, I signal boosted, supported campaigns, trying to stay away from the ignorance.

Whenever a confident woman comes along to have her say in any way she is shouted down and harassed by men like me. Men who have it so easy. We are blind to the faults of society and its focus on men. We don’t like to be challenged, but we should get used to it because I have some news for you: You are winning.

You are winning and these are the death throws of a petulant, selfish culture. When they said gamers were dead, I didn’t want to believe it, but in its way it’s true. Ultimately, games are for everyone and as more women are involved the culture around video games, it will change for the better. If some obnoxious boys end up leaving then so be it. I won’t, because I will accept the changes.

I would say more female protagonists is desirable but it would benefit these males to have a majority even. They have no idea what it’s like to be a woman, and neither do I, but more empathy would follow. As would games with an abundance of strong non sexual women saving the day. It would at least stop them from thinking they are the centre of the universe, which is what the average Gamergater thinks.

I am so sorry about the way you have been treated. You are a beautiful, talented, intelligent woman who is worth one million of those people involved in gamergate, myself included. I am no longer involved in it, in fact, I may just work against.

I know though it is time for me to stand down from my pedestal and listen to women, to let them steer culture and not resist the betterment and balance they will bring.

I said before you are winning. This is the long game, and as the media continues to side with the good guys these people will simply end up bickering as they do among themselves with less and less influence. Then they will fade out, leave or change. People are getting more and more despondent, and it’s your magnificent strength in the face of the abuse which does it. They can’t fathom it. You and the others. You have outfoxed everyone, Pakman, the harassers, everyone.

To beat Gamergate, as a former insider, remain defiant, but aloof. You are better than these people, remember that. Don’t let them get to you. Remember there is no balance here, so don’t engage them as an equal and don’t let others do so. Laugh off petty insults if you can, but never show them you are hurt, they are getting off on that. It only encourages them.

I’m sorry for the length, but I just wanted to let you know there are people out there who you will ultimately beat and win over with your sheer integrity. You beat me, and I’m so glad. I am leaving GG so I will remain anonymous as I fear these people getting to me somehow but if you wish to talk further please do so. I will listen, and would appreciate any advice on going further to become the person I should have been as I’m quite ashamed of supporting what was an ugly, chaotic mess.

I’ve rejected feminism from it’s very starting point and I’ve done nothing but stand in the way of people. If I can help let me know.

Like I say, a confident, beautiful, intelligent woman worth one million of one GGer.

I just can't get over the fact that someone who has been playing Street Fighter for over 25 fucking years straight is knowingly and willingly putting his audience through these meaningless and boring casual matches for hours upon hours, just because he's afraid to lose, and on top of that demanding viewers to be "engaged" while acting like a spoiled, toxic child throughout the whole thing, and on top of THAT, constantly ranting about how people dislike him and him not understanding why.

Absolutely mind-boggling stuff.

Right, I don't know how I forgot about those walls of texts he'd spew on those super card forums as well. Difference is those had an audience he could get attention from and had his own name on it. My read is that current day Phil never works "off the clock", that time is only for drinking and pulling. I just don't feel he would spend all that time writing a comment that nobody will see just for a podcast segment, also considering he would have had to make a new email for the sock account. Just too much work dood!

There are some overly lengthy emails he's written within the last few years. Totally on brand for a narcissistic liar to say way too much to justify their very existence.
 
Just watched yesterdays rant in full. I honestly believe it’s part of the overall mental breakdown arc. It was unhinged and this level is becoming more common.

The guy is fucking gone mentally. He’s in his own world. He’s convinced himself anyone or anything popular is because the entire world are sheep except him. Detractors only exist because everyone are sheep. He’s convinced himself anything he doesn’t like is wrong. He can’t even just admit he doesn’t like it. He’s not getting any real human interaction and it’s starting to show. How did reading a YouTube comment turn into shouting “THEY CALL YOU DENTS!” down a camera?

“My detractors sit in front of their PCs all day!” he rages, seemingly completely unaware of his own circumstances - sitting alone in front of a pc for 6 hours a day before retreating to play on his phone all night.

He’s fucking gone mentally and this is what I’ve always been here for.

His fans use his speech patterns a lot. Redemption games does the "Now guys...." before a beg and several known members of his chat adopt his definitions of words (meaningful, literally, bottom line, etc). I wouldn't put it past Phil but its probably a fan or detractor posing as one.

He went on a rant about everyone hating him because of our of context clips and detractor content, it's like no you're not some evil person Phil you're just such a cunt on stream that's why people hate you also the amount of times he puts words into people's mouths is one of the big reasons for me.

He's a know it all but hardly ever gets things right, case in point rainy day fund.

Blames other people every single time and the few times he takes the blame for shit is when it's minor and no one even gave a fuck about.

He's like a robot with excuses now it's like he doesn't even think about what he's says it's just a pre-recorded reaction, there's been a a whole heap of times he's said some excuse before the actual incident happens on screen.

Phil's email from a fan seemed to use a whole lot of words that Phil uses I'm like 90 percent sure he wrote that up, it's so weird because the chances of him picking up a new whale is like next to zero with this fake shit he does is insane. He's preaching to the choir to the people that like him are already.

FWIW I noticed during his rant he used the phrase ‘valid hate’ (that also appear in the comment) twice. I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone else use this phrase before.
I agree with Meerkat- he probably posted it when drunk.

As an aside by the way, it makes me laugh extra hard when Phil convinces himself detractors (hive mind that we are) are all fat guys sat at our PC.
I listen to Meerkat and ALT while Ironman/Triathlon training because they’re fun. I’m infinitely more productive than you gatcha goblin.
During Ker’ching of the ring I was running 20 mile while listening to insanely talented musicians produce catchy, studio level songs.
…And the guy in the Zelda pyjamas playing videogames tells us we’re not productive?
