A large part of the debate was a back and forth on why human rights abuses are or aren't inherent to Zionist aspirations, bearing in mind that Zionism is a specific ideology (or an umbrella of ideologies if you like) with literature, key figures and so on. When Destiny tried to argue that the Arabs, not Zionists, were violent, he didn't name any of the myriad ideologies that sprang up on the Arab side during the period being discussed, he just vaguely implied that Arabs were a unified, militaristic, antisemitic horde and treated that as sufficient evidence for his assumptions. He expected his opponents to prove beyond a doubt that Zionism necessarily implies expulsion and that Zionist military commanders explicitly approve of the murder of civilians, but the standard is waived for Hamas who are simply part of an evil ethnic group, so their evil intentions can be safely assumed.

I think even he was aware of how lazy and backhanded this style of argumentation is given how much time he's spent since the debate trying to justify his own arguments with supporting evidence (something he should've done during the debate itself.) In a way defending Israel might be his bread and butter, since any time he starts losing a debate he can just pull this "heads I win, tails you lose" tactic by leaning into racist prejudices the way he did in this debate, without losing credibility amongst his fans.
